This is why we always prefer direct PIA from Canada to/from Pakistan as you get to avoid these petty issues…..
It’s actually enjoyable even without the IFE ultra longhaul !
We have seen similar between Jeddah-Pakistan flights as many are first time travelers and have no concept of hygiene or basic manners. They think we’re in a bus or something to do whatever they like

Now there's BA and also PIA flying from London and Manchester.
Hopefully more destinations soon once more widebodies come online in PIA.
Transit in Middle East is a problem/inconvenience for sure.

Yeah, I think the Iran war and the crap transit at Dubai should now present a massive opportunity for PIA, lets see if they can take advantage of it

Back in the days of Hajveri Airlines, Aero Asia , Bhuja air , and Raji Airlines, i seen people lighting up a cigarette with a matchstick, mid flight. That was after smoking ban on airplanes.
Those old enough will remember there used to be special smoking seats on airplanes, which you could book and smoking during the flight.

PIA is all set to take it's due share of the market...it has big plans and reasonable chances of success.

Whenever my flight to Pakistan transits from Dubai, I dread it
The passengers boarding from Dubai, specially of one certain ethnicity are very illiterate and have bad attitude.
I can write two incidents.
Booked a flight months in advance, booked window seat and the one with more leg room.
Flight from Manchester to Dubai was great.
Has a 12 hour stay in Dubai, went out to the city and enjoyed. Upon boarding the Emirates flight from Dubai to Pakistan, I found my seat already occupied by a woman in Shuttle cork attire. I tried to talk to the man sitting next to her , asking him to ask the woman to find her seat as that's mine. The man just ignored me.
I asked the flight attendant to help me out. She talked to the guy, and was told that he is with two women and they want to sit together.
He could have just talked to me , and I would not have had any problems giving up my seat.
But I was constantly ignored.
Not jut thst. Was also snarled at .

On another occasion I was with my family in the middle row . We occupied three seats. The one next to me was empty, and a guy came sat on it, and straight away started arguing with me for the armrest. I removed my arm from the arm rest. He then threw a blanket on himself, with half of it on me. I told him that I don't want his blanket on me, and he had another weird argument with me in his pushto accent , saying he will do what he wants and I should shut up.
Then he sat so wide that his fat body was spilling into my space.
I had enough, and threw his blanket away, and pushed him aside.
For the next half a minute, both of us were punching each other , until the flight attendants broke the fight.
After explaining the situation to the staff, he was moved to another seat, away from me.

It didn't end there. After landing in Islamabad, he was standing outside with his guys waiting for me . Luckily I too had my boys with me, and we could intimidate them away .

The problem is the airline staff... They do not resolve any situation based on who is right. They just want to diffuse situations based on reducing drama. That's the wrong approach.

Ahh yes, smoking seats.

The tail end of the "golden era" of air travel, when undignified riff raff couldn't even dream of coming within 1 mile of an airport, let alone travel on an airplane - Ryanair changed all that! I also remember proper flight tickets with all the carbon copy layers.

Pakistan used to be a joy to visit and the experience always began on the iconic PIA 747.
