Apple hit $10B in sales in India despite pricing higher than USA

well, you also need a good web browsing experience and enough juice to run important apps like ride-sharing, but yes I have been impressed with Chinese phones too.

In Pakistan I was using Tecno phones, which is a local company that mainly import parts from china and assemble them locally. But now I switched to Samsung s25 some 6 months ago. IPhone have never fascinated me. And yes I did use IPhone 6s back in 2017-18 for 1.5 years.

But good speed india

False equivalence. Barely 1.5 to 2 lakh iPhones are usually imported/sold a year in pak, that's like more than a dozen and a half times less than India... per capita. With no data on BD and less said about Afg the better. The gap in purchasing power between these countries and India is roughly same as that between India and China. Or likely worse.View attachment 210543

Not just with iPhones, its the same case with production and consumption of everything be it energy, automobiles, electronics, financial services and so on. But then that isn't what the thread is about, it is about Apple's growing revenue in India.

We know that, but we're narrowing the gap however slow the process is.

By the time you reach where China is at today, China will have colonized the moon and lorded over India.

Thanks for posting this thread.

Apple sold almost $65-billion worth of products in China in 2025. Despite being roughly the same population, Chinese are vastly more affluent and China is more profitable for companies than India.

India is a paper tiger that uses flimsy stats to create an imaginary narrative.
So much sold in Pakistan? Being 7 times smaller population than china?

I guess not more than 5-7 million, means situation in Pakistan more worst?

If you use your logic and than apply on yourself as well if you want to apply for others.

So you accept India's not comparable to "those three"? And by narrowing the gap, one means the reduce the gap, and each day of bridging it means their leverage of us reducing relatively and ours increasing over to "those three" who are stagnant.

iPhone is the least useful apple product. iPad and MacBooks are the only things I find productive and useful. iPhone however is a status symbol, if you don't have it you're considered lower middle class.

India is closer to those 3 countries than to China.

iPhone is an American product. No one compares to us.

There are some issues here.

According to Apple's financial report for fiscal year 2025, its sales in the Chinese market were $64.377 billion.

Note, there are some 'tricks' here. In Apple's financial reports, the 'Chinese market' refers to the 'Greater China region,' which includes Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan—a total of four markets combined.

So, here's the question.

High-end digital products from Chinese domestic brands haven't really entered the markets of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan on a large scale. In these markets, Apple digital products dominate, with Samsung digital products competing against them. Local Chinese brand digital products aren't really in the competition. Users don't have much of a choice.

In the mainland China market, Apple and Samsung can only be considered mid-to-high-end products and have completely exited the high-end product market. The high-end market is now fully dominated by Chinese local brands.

If Apple's financial report were to list the mainland China market separately, it would be very difficult for them to explain it to the board and shareholders. So, they use the 'Greater China' category as a statistical trick to balance things out.
