Chinese will never use alphabets in place of Chinese characters, otherwise Chinese language will lose its identity, culture and history. Chinese will not change their language just for the sake to be "easier" for foreigners to learn.

Most Chinese parents now are sending their kids to Western universities only if they can't get into top or good universities in China.

Chinese should not be the official language. All the computer languages are in English.

That's not really a big deal as you could just swap out all the reserved words as the computer couldn't care less. Unfortunately it wouldn't be backwards compatible.

The problem is entrenched software is written in foreign languages but still using those english reserved words.

Python in Chinese (ignore the horrible indentation, yes i know it matters in python which is why i think the use of it is STUPID)

This thread is pretentious. Cantonese is the ugliest spoken Chinese dialect in the world. First conquer you own China country first by mandating everyone speak fluent Mandarin. Then you can talk about the rest of the world.

Also, don't know how many of you been in North America in the late 1990's early 2000's. What most ppl call Chinatowns in North America during this period are actually Cantonese Chinatowns which are the most filthy places in the world, while Mainland Chinatowns in NA were rare but have the cleanest up-keeping!

Also Cantonese babes in North America dress like shiet, but Mainland babes in North America can easily defeat Japanese in a fashion contest, and Japanese are known to be the most well dressed Asians (in the past)!

The world has moved onto using an alphabet, look at Korean.

That's their choice. Chinese will stick to their choice and tradition. Not everyone has to use like Latin alphabets. Current Korean writing has its problems. I am not advocating Chinese to be a global language. No language needs to be the global language indeed. I just thought the video is interesting so posted it.
