Turkish Air Defence Programs

The F-35 was denied to the UAE after the US asked them to kick out Chinese Telecom and other things and they refused.

Kaan is too young and too far from being mature.
KF-21 ? (but, as Kaan, with US engines...)

They are going to buy the French plane when its ready and potentially the Russian or Chinese plane. The Russians have been actively trying to sell the Su-57/75 to them.

I'm not sure they can wait so many time. 2040 or 2045...

But UAE has no point of conflict with china or russia.
all the more reason to buy from them, if there is a necessity and they can't get F-35s. Or maybe they decide they don't need them, because no one in the neighborhood has 5th gen fighters..

Hi, @hyperman @MMM-E or any other Turks on the forum just wanted to ask you about ATOM ammo and it's offshoots and related developments
1. What Calibres is it available in so far I know of a 40mm grenade variant a 35mm and a 25mm bullet variant.
Are There any 30mm and 20mm variant as well .
2. I think there was even a 12.7mm variant too but some turkish company but that was not programmable but basic air burst pellet variant, more info about this would be welcome

3. What sort of proximity fuze does ATOM use
Is it RF Proximity Fuze, or Lase Proximity Fuze or programmable time fuze or just basic time delay fuze.
AFAIK
• American Equivalent uses RF Proximity Fuze
• Indian Equivalent Uses Laser Proximity Fuze
• German and Korean Equivalent uses Programmable Time Fuze

Atom has 3 official Calibres and 1 unofficial:
35x228mm Standart airburst with large pellets and Intense airburst with smaller pellets
25x137mm Airburst with a pre fragmented round instead of pellets
40x53mm Airburst with a pre fragmented round
(Unofficial) 30x173mm Airburst with large pellets

Theres are also:
20x102mm pyrotechnic delay fuze by Mke instead of pellets it has small balls
30x113mm proximity rf fuze pre fragmented round

Other small calibres like 12.7 and 7.62 disperse pellets once they leave the barrel similar to shotgun rounds

What is a Pyrotechnic Fuze ?
Also I assume these pellets in 35x228mm are made of Tungsten

Turkish ATOM 35 mm airburst ammunition uses programmable time fuze

Turkish , Korean and German Systems emits no signals (RF ) in mid-air, it cannot be jammed by electronic warfare Systems

American equivalent uses RF Proximity Fuze ... ( can be jammed )

Indian equivalent Uses Laser Proximity Fuze
( In adverse weather and environmental conditions such as dense fog, rain, dust clouds, or artificial smoke screens, laser beams can be refracted and blocked, reducing fuse efficiency )
