The newly crowned BD government has all the rights to use any and everything to strike a better deal with India.

If the Saudis want Bangladesh in, they will be in.

Possibly Saudi financial assistance to buy toys.

And of course Bangladeshi commitment towards Saudi security.

Would be mutually beneficial.

The other aspect as I mentioned is if India creates problems for Pakistan due to her husband, a strengthened Bangladesh would divert Indian resources.

It works out well bros.

AND if this is indeed the case, expect more weapons purchases from Bangladesh than what has traditionally been seen.

By the by, the KSA had a special relationship with President Zia-ur Rahman. One example: while constructing the current international airport in Kurmitola, Zia requested for a large sum of $s from the KSA and received it.

While I agree with you, i think we (Muslims) tend to be too blunt, sometimes it's better to keep the quiet part quiet. We don't need to pick on points as to who needs it more and so on, it can create ill feeling, that's not good and that's exactly what others want. We all bring something to the table and we all benefit, that's enough and it's also true.

Besides, there's no harm in saying closer allies and brotherhood is always needed, it's not a weakness, even America was crying because no country came to help.
Countries need help, there no harm in admitting it, it doesn't mean we're not independently capable.

One of my closest friend is a Greek Cypriot, although i don't see him much these days. He served in the Cypriot army. On Cyprus i have been very clear from before we became friends, I cannot go against Turkiye. I can't say i told him, that sounds rude, but I've mentioned it in our discussions and it has never effected our friendship.
Likewise, I think many people are being too defensive in trying to justify this pact, there's no need, we make each other stronger, whether we require it or not, it shouldn't matter what others think.

We are independently capable but Saudi Arabia brings a lot to the table, just as much but in different ways, i think it'd be shortsighted to ignore that. My only concern is how they'll handle their American policy, which will only become clear after the American war with Iran is over.
 
If BD indeed joins the Misak-i Mekka the following staffs are quite low-hanging fruits:
  • The fate of the BAL will get sealed for a foreseeable future. BAL is Bharat's principal vehicle to implement and maintain the Permanent Settlement 2.0 to make slaves out of the BD Muslims. The original one was by the British Raj to relegate the Muslims in Bengal to be perennial subjects under the Hindu Landlords with zero opportunity for socio-economic upward movement; they practice it with the Muslims inside Bharat now.
  • To lessen the Bharati hegemony it's an opportunity for a horizontal spread-out. The more Muslim countries join this pact the better.
  • As for defense related procurement, production, R&D, training, tactics, operations, strategy, C4I etc., the sky is the limit. Thus, a vertical movement to counter the overwhelming Bharati advantage can be effectively done.
  • Etc.

The timing of the Saudi invite definitely suggests something cooking in the background. Let's hope something good comes off this.
 
As a Bangladeshi what are the chances Bangladesh jumps back into the arms of India? I am sure other Muslim countries or China doesn't want to give critical technology and have it turned over to the Indians.

Anything can happen man.

Look at Iran with its F-14 and F-4 in the 1970s.

Look at Egypt post 1981.

Look at East Germany with its Mig-29 in 1989.

Or for that matter the USSR and how the US was able to get access to its hardware after 1991.

Bangladesh isn't unique in that aspect.

Yeah those things happen so countries might wait a little while before fully entrusting bangladesh with the higher end stuff. But the investment and cooperation can begin immedietely
