Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide

The Greeks in the EU have applied the weight of being in that bloc against Turkiye, despite being the aggressors. Just look at Cyprus as a prime example. The greeks invaded that island, attempted the illegal annexation of that island and the attempted extermination of Turkish Cypriots Muslims. Today the Greeks are constantly rewarded, the Turkish Cypriots are internationally isolated. Power wise, Greece is nothing compared to Turkiye, but the weight of EU gives her outsized influence in the region.

So when the greeks talk, they talk with the EU weight behind them. When Turkiye talks she talks alone.

It would be nice to know that one day when Turkiye talks, she has the weight of another 20 nations behind her. I honestly feel this is the primary reason why Turkiye wants this alliance to not only succeed but to grow. The military support is great, but military wise Turkiye is going to be doing just fine, its diplomatic and political weight she needs which can only be obtained with size.

This is why i also believe when the time is right Turkiye will pull Libya, Syria and Azerbaijan into the alliance. Most likely Somalia too. Turkiye in the long run will also aim to influence the Turkic states into it. Its basically collective power.
Yes exactly, the military focus is to reduce the immediate diplomatic and strategic importance.

However I do think there is an optimal number, otherwise dilutes or creates a counter group.

If you look geographically, turkey is the most Western situated significant Muslim state in the Eurasian land mass, facing off to Europe, Saudi in the middle and Pakistan the most significant to the east, containing modi's India.

This type of agreement will get more people seeing the world like that hence India terrified because it does not want civilizational competition nor does it have the confidence to speak that language if they actually think there is a response.

The Indian media know they have ended up here but can't quite summon the language

India will never allow Bangladesh to join such military pact.... main threat is from Turkiye who may station it's advanced NATO standard military in Bangladesh and it may be an entry point to USA as well in Bangladesh.... NATO presence on our Eastern flank is very dangerous.... they will keep us under pressure from east and also they will be able to spy on our strategic assets like our ballistic missile tests that happen in orissa and also they will keep an eye on our nuclear submarines.....

Lol, tough talks. USA is already in BD as much as they want. You couldn't do shit if USA wants to increase its presence. Just like it killed three of your sailors, then you tried to whine, Marco rubio bitch slapped you into reality didn't he?

No hell no.... we won't approve any such pact for Bangladesh or else....

Lol, no body is waiting for your approval.

Not our decision , let bangladeshis decide if they want to commit suicide or not.

I personally think this so-called “Muslim NATO” is primarily posturing against Iran, rather than a serious collective-security arrangement directed at India. Both Turkey and Saudi Arabia have also conveyed to India secretly that it is not intended to be an anti-India alliance.

A genuine Muslim NATO involving Pakistan is difficult to make credible because of the unique nature of the India–Pakistan conflict: both countries are nuclear-armed, and India possesses surface to surface missile systems capable of reaching targets 5000km away. That makes any mutual-defence commitment involving Pakistan far more complicated than a conventional alliance.

NATO was originally built around the Soviet threat, and although the Soviet Union collapsed, NATO continued to exist. But even NATO's collective-defence framework has never meant automatic military intervention in every dispute involving a member. For example, India’s annexation of Goa did not trigger NATO collective defence.

So the real question is: what could a “Muslim NATO” realistically do against India that Pakistan could not already do through its own military? If its members are unwilling to risk direct confrontation with a nuclear-armed India, then a mutual-defence clause would have very limited practical value.
No posturing against Iran , Iran has been turned into a dodo bird....nothing more than a sidekick for a foreseeable future.

Lol tough talks when you just last fortnight pleading to us for fuel so your power plant can function?

Do you Bangladesh people have a death wish that you keep irritating your biggest neighbor with 1.5 billion population, you almost depend on him for rice, raw materials, coal, diesel, power everything and just because you want to be a part of some fancy middle east pact hoping to get money and weapons sponsorship from Saudi Arabia???

This pact will be first answerd in the form of India, Israel and UAE pact on western flank but if Bangladesh still wants to commit suicide then I see another pact on the Eastern flank coming in the form of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka....

This is the problem with lots of indians if you buy 0.1% of your rice demand, 3% of fuel or 10% of electricity need, they act like your entire existence depends on them. Not only that, as if they are also doing charity with this, when in reality it is a buyer seller contract.

BD's total yearly fuel import is 6 millions tonnes.

So this 180000 tonnes from India this year is less than 3%.

50000 tonnes is like 0.1% of BD because it has 39/40 millions tonnes of domestic production each year. Ironically, BD was also buying same amount from Pakistan. But Pakistani members don't come around boasting that that they are feeding our entire nation.

You might want to change this pathetic mentality. This absolute insecurity (that that compels you to twist the truth to feel relevant) is what caused you to serve at the pleasure of Abrahamic religions for 1000 years.

Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka....

Sounds real scary.
