Not sure how much time it will take this historic oil deal to materialize and this oil afloat worlds market... SOH will be irrelevant for US in future, Iran is running out of time..

Venezuela’s oil is a heavy sludge that is costly to extract and refine than other grades of oil. The U.S. is one of the few countries that have set up refineries for that particular grade.

Anyway it will take years if not decades to get major expansion of Venezuela’s oil fields. It’s not as easy as sticking a straw into the ground and sucking it up.

He’s just desperately trying to make it seem like he has prices coming down in food, energy, and cost of living before the mid terms.

Shouldn’t be hard to manufacture new mines anyway

It actually is difficult for iran likely to acquire next gen naval mines and acoustic mines, not sure they build anything that isn’t decades old in design. Sure building crude or floating devices is possible, the issue is U.S. is using underwater drones and maybe even Navy Seals to disable these if they drift into Oman waters.

Just shocked in 45 years Iran didn’t think of a better way to mine the SoH than using speedboats. Should have developed mass deployment mechanisms as well as underwater drones torpedos. Iran had shown of cases of underwater maneuverable torpedos. But so far it continues to rely on drones and cruise missiles.

It will take 5 to 10 years minimum to get more oil out of Venezuela and the opposition is merely waiting Trump out. This makes no tangible difference to anything in the short term.

Wow optimistic if you think five years before anyone is even brave enough to invest because I’m assuming the oil companies which have done many shady things in the past and probably still to some degree are worrying what Trump will try to take from this from the back end and if we elect an actual moral government in the future might start looking in those dealings

Not easy when the entire west was pressurizing and arm-twisting every country/manufacturer to NOT sell anything to Iran......and back then there wasn't much options anyways.

American navy can only stay in the oceans for so long before their sailors onboard the ships will revolt and refuse to comply with orders en masse. With the gulfie bases not safe to dock at for the americans, it is a big risk for them with iranian long-range missiles......so Iran can wait them out and just pressurize (if done properly the long game). The americans are under tremendous debt now and their economy is in the shitter, hence u have Trumpy lashing out at every country, even at Canada.

If you choose not to engage in the fight, your only option is to be patient and wait for Trump to leave office, hoping for a Democratic President who will restore an agreement or sign a deal. What else can you do if you refuse to fight?

What is hard to face is the fact that Iran had the means to end this war on her terms but refused to do so.

You know, my father is an elderly, rural, Anatolian Sunni man who is unwilling to recognize Shia as Muslims, yet he holds a different view about Iranians as a nation and society. Despite his religious beliefs, he has never doubted Iran's nationhood or its rich historical traditions and centuries of statehood. The Arabs he was familiar with seemed new to this game and very weak minded, but he regarded the Iranians as equals to the Turks without a doubt.

Sometimes, when I share the current situation with him by simply summarizing a few pages from this thread, he outright accuses me of lying. lol. In his worldview, he struggles to understand how Iranians could repeatedly make such strategic errors that have led to the present circumstances.

He's conservative and traditional but explained a few days ago that Imams shouldn't lead a country. This is equal to the renaissance era in Europe. lol

The whole situation is genuinely concerning, and I wonder how you guys can sleep at night. The situation is stressful.

And there's no assurance that Turkey or any other nation wouldn't find itself in a similar predicament as Iran in 15 years ir so. Just two or three significant geopolitical blunders can jeopardize a nation's future.

Trust me, Turkey will not find itself in a similar situation because Turkey does not prioritize ideology over its national interests.

Even Erdogan who is considered "a radical Muslim" by the standards of Turkish politics after Ataturk still understands how to back down when he crosses a line.

The Ayatollahs of Iran crossed every red line by the West for 47 years while building no deterrence to guarantee our safety, thinking that humiliating the West publicly and calling for the destruction of Israel repeatedly while refusing to threaten them militarily would be tolerated. I doubt any nation would be idiotic enough to pursue what the Iranian regime has done in the last 3 decades.
