Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide

Bangladesh is geographically far away.... such pact can't help him.... India is never going to fight Bangladesh.... Myanmar though powerful again is tied up with internal issues.....

If Saudi Arabia ever allows Bangladesh to join such pact then beware Bangladeshis..... they will be inviting you to fight and die for their cause against Iran and Houthis..... who will refuse strong Bangladesh military if they are ready to die for them???

So in the end you will be just a cannon fodder for them and in return you will be rewarded with BAKHSHISH in the form of weapons and bucks.....

After this Iran will be your number 1 enemy and their proxies will ensure that Bangladesh will be further destabilized by bomb blast or other such activities.....

I mean common guys you are south Asians and during Hasina you were actually behaving like some progressive country and now suddenly you want yourself in this mess.... why??. Are you enough strong to face repercussions?

Good day gentlemen
I find the India has more to fight within the internal politics 🕳️

People like me have, in fact, run away from here,.... or waiting for my next trip to ASEAN, hopefully 👍

That's what i said,
but your post was regarding action of or accusations toward Indonesia. I never said anything of the sort.
Your inference was a lie.
Now you're changing the goalpost.
Changing the topic.

At least have the guts to remain on topic. And apologise if you made a mistake.

This is beyond childish. Grow the heck up.
if you're going to jump around, please go to find a jungle and stop wasting my time.

" Similarly Bangladesh hasn't got a chance in hell of joining ASEAN, they might be willing to provide some benefits. That's it, but no entry. Another Muslim majority country with a total population of approaching 200 million with 160 plus million Muslims will completely disturb the balance in ASEAN. They will not allow that to happen. The sooner Bangladeshis realise the better. "

as a pakistani, you have no say in who gets admitted or not. leave it and move on

Bangladesh joining this pact is nothing but BEGANI SHAADI ME ABDULLAH DEEWANA....

BD Muslims must understand one truth: no security for them if El Kuds, Baghdad, Damascus etc. aren't secured....

Bangladesh thinks it can balance its relationship with India and Pakistan and remain standoffish with Pakistan and can still be included in this alliance.

This is not how this works.

I agree here. India is the bigger enemy to Bd then Pakistan. Bd needs to reduce it's relation with India to bare minimum.

Send your PM to Pakistan for a visit and officially remove the requirement of an apology for 1971. Then we can move forward and develop the relationship further. Pakistan will need full access to BD airspace to attack India if it feels threatened. This will be the bare minimum of what BD will bring to the table.

I would leave this alone and let the relationship improve gradually over time. Both side is working on reconciliation and realignments. Many things are happening in public and private. No reason to rush. we waited 50 years, another 5 or 10 years won't kill anyone. We are moving toward greater cooperation and opportunities.

This gives a new template to Bangladesh's foreign policy at a time when there have been strains over a Sheikh Hasina event in New Delhi even as both countries are working towards a reset in ties.

Bangladesh Keen To Join Saudi-Pak-Turkey Defence Alliance, Says PM's Top Aide's Top Aide

Bangladesh is keen on joining a formation like the Mecca Pact, Close aide of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has told Bangladesh Sangbad Sanstha (BSS), giving a new template to Bangladesh's foreign policy at a time when there have been strains over a Sheikh Hasina event in New Delhi even as both countries are working towards a reset in ties.

On the issue of Bangladesh being keen to join the Mecca pact, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, "We continue to closely follow the developments in the West Asia region. We are keeping a close eye on that."

Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Turkey signed the joint defence agreement in Mecca earlier this month. For India, adding Bangladesh to this equation could present a new worry, as while India maintains close ties with Saudi Arabia, Pakistan is an enemy country, and ties with Bangladesh have seen recent hiccups.

The pact was signed in Mecca by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The joint statement declared a "shared commitment to further strengthening their collective security and to promoting peace, security and stability in the region and beyond".

Hinting at a foreign policy of regional alliances and strategic balance, Rahman's foreign affairs advisor, Humayun Kabir, told BSS, "The government is following a 'Bangladesh First' policy. The government was pursuing a balanced foreign policy in the international arena, with national interests at its core."

"Bangladesh maintains a positive approach towards the possibility of joining an economic or defence framework involving Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye, taking into account its own interests and the changing dynamics of the global economy and trade,"
Kabir told Bangladesh Sangbad Sanstha.

Kabir said Rahman's visit to Riyadh, at the invitation of the Saudi Crown Prince, was likely to be finalised soon after the summer.

"At the same time, Bangladesh is strengthening its working bilateral relationship with Pakistan as part of normal diplomatic engagement, with a focus on trade and bilateral people-to-people connectivity," he said.

The "Mecca Joint Defence Agreement" is intended to strengthen collective deterrence against any act of aggression, and Pakistan's foreign ministry said it stipulates that an armed attack against any of the three would be regarded as an attack on all.

This statement from such a high-ranking official amidst Bangladesh making Sheikh Hasina the central focus of its engagement with India has implications for India's immediate neighbourhood.

Both Pakistan and Turkey have also voiced support for a maritime defence coalition, and Saudi Arabia has already announced plans to protect regional shipping and energy routes. If Bangladesh does join the Mecca pact, then it could also have new implications in the maritime domain.

Some analysts have described the Mecca pact as an Islamic NATO. While Bangladesh is considering joining the agreement, a formal defence agreement will add further stress to the India-Bangladesh bilateral relationship, as any engagement with Pakistan is going to be seen with suspicion, as Pakistan has in the past tried to gain a foothold in Bangladesh to push terror into India.

Yo I can dream of a dream…
In 1971 ‘operation cactus 🌵 Lilly ‘ was the name of the 🇮🇳 Assult…

a Makkah pact Bangladesh 🇧🇩 can honor it with operation **** cactus 🌵 to take the 🐤 neck… if 🇮🇳 chooses more violence… instead of falling in line to the ‘new normal’

Obfuscate, misdirect, misrepresent..... our forum regulars of a more eastern persuasion certainly can't be accused of not trying every trick in the book!

Good. Then why are you and the perpetual coffee drinker posting in such concerned fashion?

Question marks on fully automatic mode. Such extreme scenarios being conjured up.

The other day it was jaeger meister in full panic mode. Do you all just tag each other in to fire question marks at people?

Honest recommendation, take a break from godi media, and don't worry so much if Bd does as Bd pleases.

Yup,
but i remember this one, he's just dumb.

Funny thing is i was expecting Sunday to be my last day here. Today i had borderline decided to continue till i get a ban. I've never been banned before and since i only visit every few months, a ban means nothing to me.
Plus, life is a bit boring these days, a ban might be existing lol
