Anyway, as @Owaiz has also pointed out BD doesn’t have the backward and forward linkage to process the gunge that is left over. Which reduces the viability even more.

He has also supported my assertion that it won’t lead to much (if any) forex savings once you factor in cost of crude, cost of refining, loans.

And you cannot tripple capacity of anything and still call it brownfield.

When Chevron undertook Bibiyana expansion project, it increased gas production capacity in Bangladesh from 300 million cubic feet per day to 1.4 billion cubic feet per day. That's almost 5 times, and it was still considered a brownfield project. It was an expansion, not a new greenfield investment. You may have an opinion about it being a greenfield project because of the magnitude, but that's what it is, an opinion.
