Pakistan Assumes Chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation

Joint means all agreed 🤝 .

Did you forget this already? Or forget when you followed sanctions on Iran and Russia? Or when you pulled out of Chabahar? Just to jog that little memory of yours. At the end of the day everyone knows not to trust Modi's word.

SCO is near dead organisation, neither it brings countries economically closer nor it has a definition who is the terrorist?
Just a seminar type organisation.

Russia wanted the SCO to back it on Ukraine. It didn't — India, China, and the Central Asian states all declined. The 2026 Bishkek Declaration condemned strikes on Iran but said zero about Russia's war . In 2014, Russia asked SCO members to recognize Crimea as Russian; none did . The organization simply goes silent whenever a member is involved in a conflict.
In 2025 ,Tianjin Declaration balanced Pahalgam and Balochistan attacks into a moral equivalence that satisfied no one.
Economically brings nothing as a whole but gives a chance to countries to hold /improve bilateral ties .
Lol. SCO is not going to support any member going nuts such as starting wars, not even NATO would do that in such situation. If SCO is totally useless to India, why it still wants to be in SCO, just to be a spoiler as always in any org that India signs in ?

Why do China tolerate Indian presence at the SCO when India is the only country in the world that practically rejects One China policy?

China doesn't want to fight Russia in SCO for the sake of India membership, Russia wants India in. India gov officially has not dared to recognize Tibet and Taiwan the two Chinese provinces the Indians most want to have designs as independent states so far. Chinese are taking note of their practices on these matters.

Seems like a highly impractical approach to both elements of blackmail and sabotage.

How will his plane fly into Pakistan, his airlines are banned? Maybe he will have walk across the Wagah border? In reality, he will send a minion - maybe "laser red eyes".
This is contrary to international practice.

As the host country of the conference, Pakistan has an obligation to provide convenience for all international guests attending the conference, including India.

If Pakistan were to actually ban flights from the Indian delegation attending the conference from entering Pakistani airspace, or if any security incident were to occur within Pakistani territory, then ultimately it would be Pakistan, not India, that would be ridiculed internationally.

But, I suspect that Modi is unlikely to travel to Islamabad in person. Even Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is unlikely to attend. But India won't completely ignore international implications, so they will most likely send a lower-ranking official as a special envoy to the meeting.

The organization originally consisted of China, Russia, and the Central Asian states. Over time, the Central Asian countries gradually shifted toward China. Russia, unable to match China's influence on its own, brought India into the fold. And that's how things stand.

India does not follow international practice, or treaties or anything, so the expectation that India should expect anything from Pakistan is absurd ...

Pakistan has already banned flights for an SCO conference, ie India and will do so again. Your perception of "ridicule" does not really in this scenario.

If you're referring to the flight detour Modi took to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan this year for the SCO summit, then that's perfectly normal. ------ In that instance, Pakistan was only a participating country, not the chair, and therefore didn't have the obligations of a chair.

However, Pakistan will be the chair for next year's SCO summit. It must assume the obligations of the chair country.
