Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Yemenis are attacking Saudi oil targets several times a day with a fraction of Iran's resources, it is incredible

but they also have very little to lose

If Iran can strike Saudi energy targets through Iraq and Yemen and claim plausible deniability, that is the smartest outcome

otherwise, we can just launch drones from near the Iraqi border and deny it ...
Yes, but we also have little to lose at this point.
The US has imposed a naval blockade on Iran, effectively disrupting our international imports/exports through free waters. And now they're working to shut down our land routes as well. Meraj Airline has canceled their flights in late September. Soon our air transport will be crippled too. That means sooner or later, Iran will be suffocated and die.

Iran needs to change the status quo fast and decisively. It is extremely unlikely that this situation can last for years because the Iranian economy is truly failing and they're tightening the screws.

Funny how Ukraine is the country that is unintentionally helping us, while the Russians have done nothing for us, are benefitting from high oil prices and lifted sanctions thanks to the war with Iran and are besties with Israel. The late Khamenei really did a number on our foreign relations. He did have a knack for siding with the wrong side.

I agree we need to change the status quo decisively

But IRI leaders appear comfortable with the slow burn, I guess they know more about how sustainable the situation is than we do

I started pointing out how Iran was losing the Strait of Hormuz in July, now we are in September and at least 10MBPD are getting thru compared to 5MBPD in July.

The deficit is shrinking of the pre-war 19MBPD.

Iranian politicians need to hang themselves for their empty threat of “if we can’t sell oil then not a drop gets thru” because this is what it looks like outside of SoH right now

Sometimes not always a fast response means they’re cooking up a larger more fierce response than usual

What about these?

It’s clear this Jackal and Hyde way of warfare is not working. You can’t fire 30 missiles to Jordan one day then do nothing the next time. It ruins your credibility.

I mean so far with everything going against Iran its responses haven’t been horrible I think I have said this before but as we can see iran has rebuilding their capabilities quicker than anyone thought they would especially the underground weapons production I still saying they haven’t done out fully because they are preparing for a larger more sustained confrontation in the future, I know we disagree about what Irans influence has been on the Houthis but I have always said they were being kept on the back burner for a reason Saudis gave them all the excuse they needed and for whatever losses Hezbollah may have sustained seems more or less they have gone quiet for their own reasons as well Israel isn’t going along with the ceasefire and last time we had the FPV flying everywhere after people thought Hezbollah gave up something is coming I guarantee that

Possible Risk in October before November Midterm

Iran’s October Surprise – And Why This Changes Everything

The Escalation Trap This Week — Staying Ahead of the Risks

Prof Robert Pape

Sep 14, 2026

With America heading into the Midterms, Iran is seizing the initiative across the Middle East. Gone are the days when Iran merely retaliated for US and Israeli attacks or engaged in tit-for-tat demonstration strikes.

From attacking a US carrier to declaring a new restriction zone in the Gulf to its ally the Houthis seizing control of the key Red Sea chokepoint to Iranian-backed militias in Iraq shutting down the crucial East-West pipeline, Iran is escalating.

Markets are reacting sharply – with brent crude surging to ~$108 and US gas prices up 8% to $4.32 a gallon, up from $4.01 just before Labor Day, and diesel skyrocketing to $6 a gallon. Iran’s escalating disruption of crude has overwhelmed normal seasonal drops in gas prices with the most expensive September on record.

These developments follow the strategy I have been tracking for months: Iran exploiting its period of maximum leverage to turn military disruption into economic and political pressure.

Alas, Iran may well have more coming.

Indications are growing of an Iran “October Surprise” -- a sudden major escalation occurring in October – just weeks or days before the US midterm elections – that has the potential to sway voters and alter the outcome of the race. If so, this would leave the Trump administration and affected candidates little time to respond.

Indeed, the phrase was coined by William Casey, the campaign manager for Ronald Reagan, about a last-minute release of the US hostages then held by Iran (the timing of which Iran did manipulate to wreck Jimmy Carter’s presidency).

Here’s what Iran’s next October Surprise may well look like – and the three warning signs I’m watching now.

And naive people on here think Democrats (or as Trump calls them ‘Dumocrats’) are going to end the war if they win midterms

Because they can no longer control the direction of this war, and only two choices left for them: either Iran got leveled by the US or the US lost its superpower status after this unprecedented fiasco.

Houthis fought America, Saudi Arabia, and Israel.

Meanwhile Iran is trying to figure out new ways to claim they control the Strait of Hormuz while oil tankers leave in broad daylight.

Where are Saudi Air defenses?
