Cuban Americans are mostly those who were part of Batistuta regime and fled in 1959. I had meant the Cubans on the island who have withstood the harshest blockades, attacks and assassinations since 1959. But we are going off topic.

Not all supporters of the Batista regime fled to the US, many of them still dwell within Cuba, and are waiting for the opportunity to revert back to the previous right-wing government.

As some of our Iranian friends also pointed out, these Latino nations are not originator of their own civilization, and doesn't have baggage of carrying forward the torch of their own civilization, and surrendering means very little to them.
