Shouldn't be too difficult to release a non-committal statement asking for peace, should it? Especially for a summit held in the universe's centre of enlightened virtue.
This is true. India has two cards to play repeatedly for all situations - a massive consumer and labour market. Every country you've mentioned wants a piece of one or both of those markets. It would be foolish for us to ignore that reality.It supports the West, but it does not want to give up its relationship with Russia.

It has joined SCO. But it has also joined QUAD.
It thinks it's very smart.
