The Chinese inventions you can frequently come into contact with are only the USB flash drive and the foldable-screen phone, plus that awful Indian AI built on Chinese open-source. But the most important inventions that affect humanity's destiny are all presented in the form of systematized patents, for example:
The World's Largest Blast Furnace: Tata KPO Steel Plant No. 2 Blast Furnace
This blast furnace is located within Tata KPO Steel Plant in Kalinganagar, Odisha, India. It was designed by MCC CISDI under China Minmetals, which also undertook the complete set of core equipment supply. It was ignited and put into operation on September 21, 2024, with an effective furnace volume of 5,873 cubic meters and a designed annual output of 4.375 million tons of hot metal. The core technology supporting its operation—"Key Technologies and Applications for Efficient and Low-Consumption Extra-Large Blast Furnaces"—is a 2016 China National Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Class achievement, with more than 3,100 valid patents in total.
The World's Largest Single-Series Coal-to-Fertilizer Project: Talcher Project
This project is located in Talcher, Angul district, Odisha, India. It was contracted on an EPC turnkey basis by Wuhuan Engineering under China Chemical Engineering, with a total contract value of 7.93 billion RMB, designed to produce 1.27 million tons of urea and 730,000 tons of synthetic ammonia annually. The Wuhuan team customized a dedicated process package for this, containing hundreds of patents. Industrial coal-to-fertilizer is the most precious gem among China's world-leading chemical technologies. It is the door of destiny for any country lacking oil and natural gas, and its power is enough to change humanity's destiny!

Kalinganagar blast furnace: The Chinese company designed/built the furnace, but China did not invent the blast furnace. This demonstrates Chinese engineering capability, not invention of the underlying technology.
Talcher fertiliser project: The Chinese company Wuhuan is executing the project, but that doesn't mean China invented the technology. The project also uses Shell-origin coal-gasification technology.
“Every country needs it”: Neither blast-furnace technology nor coal-to-fertiliser technology is required by every country. Countries use different industrial processes depending on resources and economics.
3,100 patents: A large patent count doesn't automatically mean China invented the underlying technology. It can include improvements, applications, equipment and engineering methods.

I agree that China has become a major global manufacturing hub. It manufactures technology at enormous scale, improves existing technologies, reduces costs, and sometimes makes significant engineering innovations. But manufacturing, scaling, or improving an existing technology is not the same as inventing the core technology itself.
