The Mecca Pact’s First Test Has Exposed Its Central Weakness

Saudi Arabia has sought assistance from the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, bypassing the alliance directly.
Even Egypt received a request for assistance from Saudi Arabia.

This is quite surprising, assuming it is true. Why is KSA bypassing TUR and PAK?

Disinformation Maju ... Nobody is bypassing anyone.... USA , UK and European union certainly have higher capacity and it's as much if not more in their interest to clean up the mess ... EU is heavily dependent on gulf oil , more than ever after cutting off supplies from Russia.

Ok, thanks Blum Pai.

EU is heavily dependent on gulf oil , more than ever after cutting off supplies from Russia.

Well I wish the GOI had aggressively greenlighted the Aramco proposal to build a giant oil refinery on the Western coast, either with RIL or the PSUs. Would have been a heaven sent asset for IND at this moment.

India is doing well and minting money....GOI made the wise decision , you don't want overcapacity.

It’s funny to believe that China would risk the lives of its own people for another country. That philosophy is very idealistic and, in practical terms, is unlikely to happen.

The same applies to every country. No government will willingly put the lives of its own people at serious risk for another country if the potential cost is too high. National security and the safety of their own population will always come first.
Pakistan may not win but they will not lose. That is the principle China gave America regarding North korea and Americans did not listen. Then they got kicked out of North Korea.

The longest retreat in U.S. military history was the U.S. Eighth Army's 275-mile (443 km) withdrawal down the Korean Peninsula during the Korean War in late 1950 and early 1951. [1, 2]

Key Details of the Retreat
    • Timeframe: November 1950 to January 1951
    • Opponent: Chinese People's Volunteer Army (PVA)
    • Distance: Approximately 275 miles (443 km)
    • Outcome: United Nations forces were cleared entirely from North Korea after a massive, surprise Chinese counter-offensive shattered the advance toward the Yalu River. The rapid retreat was widely nicknamed the "Big Bug-Out". [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

it's reminiscent of Iranian monarchists who became so debased they supported the bombing of their nation so their faction, their tribe their people can take power .
That is actually a great example - and likely that such people would celebrate Pakistani deaths just so their god and lord is able to come to power.

newspapers are just that, they create sensationlsim

however; to think, everyone is just a fool, is a sheer stupidity, as well!

it is like a prankster telling to a magician, I know, I was magician in a real life!

they can fool 'almost' anyone (that includes themselves!)
News papers, people sitting on the toilet making posts on X or sending WhatsApp messages - sensationalist or plain incitement of divides is not unique.

Everyone is not a fool - but collectively people will choose foolishness to remain part of the “tribe”

Frankly, we knew the basic reality from the first day of this agreement. Now that Indians are reacting this way, isn’t it something Pakistanis would laugh about too? If India had a similar agreement and was in the same situation, and watching the war from a distance? Pakistanis would probably react the same way. That’s simply human nature.

Look at the possible scenarios:

1. Saudi–Iran war: The US and Western countries would likely support Saudi Arabia, while China and Russia would likely provide indirect support to Iran. Would Pakistan and Turkey really risk directly fighting their neighbour Iran for Saudi Arabia? Would Turkey take that risk? Would Pakistan take that risk? Very doubtful.

2. Turkey–Israel war: The US and West would likely back Israel, while China and Russia could remain more cautious. Would Saudi Arabia or Pakistan directly enter the war against Israel and risk their relations with the US and West? Again, very doubtful.

3. India–Pakistan war: The US and West would probably push strongly for a ceasefire. China could support Pakistan indirectly, while Russia could continue weapons and energy support to India. Turkey might strongly support Pakistan politically or militarily with weapons supply support, and Israel could support India in the same way. But would any of these countries actually risk directly entering a war between two nuclear states? Highly unlikely.

So the real issue is simple: on paper, the agreement may look very strong. But when the choice is between fulfilling the agreement and taking a major national risk, every country will ultimately put its own interests first.

That’s the real loophole: an agreement can promise support, but when the cost becomes war, every country will ultimately calculate its own interests first.

This kind of agreement may have been more useful during the Cold War, or against groups or countries like the Taliban or the Houthis that don’t have a powerful state or major military backing behind them.

But the Saudi–Houthi conflict has exposed the limitations of this agreement very quickly and much earlier than many people expected.

The Houthis have even attempted attack connected to Mecca, one of the most important holy sites in Islam. They have also carried out repeated attacks against Saudi territory. If an agreement cannot provide meaningful protection in such a situation, then it naturally raises questions about what practical value the agreement actually has.
Don’t know why instead of all this you just didn’t say how butthurt you are about this deal & hoping & preying it fails & therefore never becomes an issue for Supapowa India. Isn’t that the real truth about u?
