There are many things that may happen to the USA economically, but the collapse of the dollar is not one of them. The USA may well fall into a recession, if not outright depression but that is very different to saying "economic collapse of USA dollar!!" hence the laugh..

As long as dollar is the main store of wealth - USA will avoid hyper inflation because nation states will buy US junk bonds.

China is already moving away from US bonds.

Japan dumping US bonds to prop up its own failing currency.

EU countries have their own reserve currency and depleting their dollar reserves due to debt and deficits.

And finally Iran is trying to give the final blow by destroying the petro dollar.

Once dollar is just another reserve currency instead of the only one - whole pack of cards will fall like a domino.
