India Economy Thread

If forum rules applied equally not one of you would be posting here lol! Muh thread ban.

We don't aim to replicate China's manufacturing capacity overnight. Building manufacturing scale and supply chains is a gradual process that takes years to materialise, it won't happen in 10 years. It happens slowly from sector to sector. Say electronics production went from $30 billion to $130 billion (still growing at 15%). You increase manufacturing, sign FTAs that help increase the production capturing more orders due to reduced tariffs, increase domestic production. Give us time we will get there.

More importantly, economic output isn't agressive manufacturing output it's the aggregate value added across both goods and services. You concentrate on sectors that are not growing at faster pace and extrapolate to the entire economy then discuss to death about why Indian growth is fake saar.
You seriously had to explain all that to a Pakistani? 😂 Come on bro, is this guy really worth that much of your time?

Exports of electronic goods rose 39.4 per cent to $26.66 billion during the period, compared with $19.08 billion in the corresponding period of FY26. Smartphone exports contributed nearly $15.96 billion, or 60 per cent, of total electronics exports during the five-month period. Printed circuit boards (PCBs) were the second-largest electronics export category at $1.46 billion, recording growth of 2,913 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

@Nimble
US, UK, China drive India's engineering goods exports in August

Donkey first sentence,

You have been trying for years already,in the time say keep saying it takes time China moves on and on

About aim "overnight" lol you have missed the production and the ai bandwagons, your aim is irrelevant because you don't have the tools or the people to aim and shoot

We are talking about manufacturing because you post every factory, decide yourself what's important lol

Yeah and we will keep trying until we crack into top three. We are already in top ten, ranked 6 in MVA.
As for AI and production whatever you mean by production, we are already making chips, frontier models, conducting research if India is what you call "missed" then God help the rest of the countries in the world including yours who use features developed by Indian origin scientists to make pictures and videos lol! All the while thinking India a country with around 20% global chip makers and GCCs popping up like mushrooms are going to be left out. Sure buddy, anything that keeps you from losing it.

Every factory indeed. We are talking about the future not what happened 10 years ago. What do you think we should be talking about Foxconn Apple iPhone production facility opening?

Yeah and we will keep trying until we crack into top three
Only thing cracking is your overinflated sense of .... Most things to be honest

Look keep your feelings to yourself, makes it weird.

You are knocking on the door for entry into castles built by others, you celebrate flat linear movement, if only you had a modern rail network to connect things, so whenever you are ready guys.... All that it and science talent whilst you are working out how to build a model, no major ranked one right? china is blending ai into it's factory production, helping build amazing robots ..... That Indians subsequently plagiarized 😂

What will increasingly happen is you guys will call yourself a big 3 player, when in reality there are two ....in major growth drivers like ai, chips and robotics, and content yourselves with association.

Read this with a cup of tea ...

To paraphrase the old saying,

“They don’t need to beat China, they just need to beat you”.

The constant sniping of Indian economic growth by you lot is pretty sad and pathetic, tbh!

India is one of few countries where they still get to pick their leader. Instead of constant regime changes by USA.

And that’s largely thanks to the strength of their economy.

They don’t need to go begging to the IMF.

They don’t need to beat China, they just need to beat you
They do need to beat china, if that is conceded they are hyphenating themselves to Pakistan, GDP per capita what's the major difference tbh

Which is what is being said all along

India fake media already beat China. Everytime a short lifespan india reads 7% growth rate they beat China. What they dont know is that their rupee depreciated to toilet paper currency and Inflation and interest repayments are destroying the economy which is why UK and Japan overtook india last year. That's not to even mention how AI is deleting the global back office role. Chinas ability to create a super advanced open source AI will soon put tens of millions of indian IT and call centre workers out of work.

“We will continue to strengthen our production capacity in India, and aim for 4 million units per year from fiscal year 2030 onward,” Toshihiro Suzuki, CEO of Suzuki Motor, said. India among its key bases for producing vehicles for domestic and overseas customers.

Haha funny reference to the rail network. Some countries are busy mocking how quickly others are modernising while much of their own railway system still runs on a network inherited from the British, with major new lines apparently remaining a project for another generation.

There’s something amusing about lecturing others on AI models, chips and robotics when their own country barely features in those conversations. Being a spectator to somebody else’s technological competitions doesn’t make you one of the competitors. But sure, keep critiquing the castle while standing outside the construction site. 😂

Nobody serious disputes that China is substantially ahead in areas like manufacturing depth, robotics, advanced hardware and parts of the AI ecosystem. But acknowledging that doesn’t magically turn the world into a two country leaderboard and “you haven’t built a top AI model yet” isn’t quite the knockout argument you think it is. Countries don’t need to lead every layer of every technological stack simultaneously to become major economic or strategic powers.

I'm so comfortable being in the top ten and growing "the fastest" for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't mind if it's because of a factory we constructed or number of GCC s we run, what matters is we have it. The screetching is going to get louder from here on out and we know it.

Take the empirical approach, what is your best example of catching up to OLDER technology. That's the basis.

I could mention jet engines, chips, infra etc

So if your human capital was and is not sufficient there why would it be for additional technologies that require broader quality of human capital.

There is no such thing as top 10, you either have it or you don't, this framing belongs to real global power's, it depends on your perception of yourself.

Many others are also comfortable with your top 10 framing if it means you are always catching up.

Lol! Take cryogenic propulsion. India began by using Russian cryogenic stages and attempted to acquire the technology. When that route failed, it spent years developing the capability indigenously. The indigenous cryogenic stage became operational, India subsequently developed the higher thrust CE20 for LVM3, and that engine has now flown repeatedly. Development has since moved on to restart capability and a much larger semi cryogenic engine. Heck even Indian private companies are testing semi-cryo stages from first principles. Meanwhile elite human capital in some countries never went past sounding rockets.

I'm glad you keep finding things we are lagging behind. Aero engines are an obvious example, and leading edge semiconductor fabrication is another major gap. But that is why “you either have it or you don't” is a poor model of technological development. Countries don't possess some binary quantity called technological capability. They can be at the frontier in one technological stack, converging in another and substantially behind in a third.
Failure to master one exceptionally difficult technology does not establish that the country's human capital is incapable of mastering another. If it did, India's failure to produce a competitive indigenous fighter turbofan should also have prevented it from mastering cryogenic propulsion. Empirically, it didn't so your argument is again a nothingburger.

Ok, thats a win

rocketry, very specific vertical, is that your best example?

In any case, drones, robots ai will intermesh with quantum, space networking etc it all needs to come up together close to each other to have a multiplier and only china USA are doing it and therefore can do it, because they have got to the stage they don't really have dependency for existing technology, so they keep pushing ahead whilst others have dependency on old stuff

I'm glad you keep finding things we are lagging behind
This is important actually
In theory..... over last 30 year's....with your gdp, your talent pool, alleged, your consistent growth over decades, your everyone wants us geopolitical standing, your tech dominance etc Pakistan should be left with no choice but play ball with India, you no doubt said and thought this

A few decade of India is accelerating and Pakistan going the opposite..... plus size difference you already had....What's the point, Pakistan can't bridge a growing gap

Yet none of this has come into fruition, your gdp was meant to overwhelm Pakistan into irrelevance and dependence, it was meant to translate into technological dominance of India in the military sphere

I thought it was looking this way up to 5 years ago, no such worry now, if it didn't happen already it will be even harder in today's world
