I have only to say when USA developing ATF/JSF (Advanced tactical fighter/Joint strike fighter) F-22/F-35 in 80s and 90s than you're copying 2nd and 3rd gen Soviet MIG-21 as J-7 and Su-15 as J-8 respectively, read the military history of your country kid then troll

But the issue is previous performance isn't indication of future.

US having started military aviation before China doesn't mean China won't and hasn't surpassed the US. By that logic would India be doomed to be forever decades behind the leading edge? Would Turkey and Pakistan? What was Turkey's first fighter designed and manufactured? What about Japan? It designed a fighter so long before these countries does that make Japan's modern domestic fighters better than the others? Ignoring that Japan doesn't actually have a domestic modern fighter.

That's like saying since China invented gunpowder propelled weapons before the West, the West must lag China in kinetic weapons. Thoroughly fallacious and incorrect but somehow this logic is applied to military aviation. The two are pretty much neck and neck in military aviation now with China surpassing US in its next generation fighter platforms.

By 2030, China will probably have another variant of J-20.

Many years ago, I heard from a friend in the defense industry that China’s J-20 has a variant specifically designed to launch stealth tactical nuclear weapons, which can be carried internally or externally. I wonder how far it has developed now.
The J-20 has many derivative versions, but they will never be revealed to the world.

I doubt J-20 will still be produced in 2040s when 6th generation is hinted at reaching LRIP and PLAAF service by early 2030s if not sooner. J-20 production will scale down in the mid 2030s when 6th gen production scales up.

That gives it roughly 10 more years of production at around 120 units per year. They may even scale back production sooner than that unless for export lines.

Oh and yes, of course J-20 has EODAS, integrated ESM suites and offensive electromagnetic capabilities. Even the J-10C does albeit much weaker than the J-20.

yeah, everything is in parallel stationery mode, just like EU and Japan with hundreds years of industrialization history but they are nowhere to be seen in AI, Robotic and other emerging sectors.
