If the U.S. were willing to sell, I would actually suggest that the PLAAF procure 4 to 8 F-35s for use by "Blue Force" units!

Ideally, these fighters would retain their original USAF liveries. Of course, the price couldn't be too high; a unit cost of under $100 million would be acceptable.

I wonder if Trump would be willing to sell under those conditions...

Of course, under this arrangement, we could still procure original Russian Air Force Su-57 fighters from Russia. This would potentially make the PLAAF's "Blue Force" the most lavishly equipped unit in the world.

That would be an epic troll!

why not just deploy phalanx CIWS like they have at the Baghdad embassy?

FFS, the Air Force still deploys the 40mm Bofors in the AC-130 so why not use it for airfield defense as well. Update the radar control systems and with modernized proximity fuses, it would be ideal for aerial defense.
