DUBAI: The UAE’s Federal Prosecutor Hamad Saif Al-Shamsi said investigations into FlyDubai flight FZ1073 found that the co-pilot had attempted to carry out a terrorist attack.

In a statement carried by WAM News Agency, Al-Shamsi said the co-pilot launched his plan during the flight, assaulting the captain inside the cockpit with a crash axe and attempting to take control of the aircraft.

Investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances and motives behind the incident, as well as any related connections. Authorities are also completing technical examinations and analyzing physical and digital evidence, with final findings to be announced once the investigation is concluded.

A FlyDubai spokesperson said that the circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

Dubai crown prince visits Indian hero pilot

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai, visits FlyDubai captain Smit Machchhar at the hospital, whom he described as the embodiment of “the highest degrees of courage, responsibility, and care for human life.”

Images shared on social media showed Sheikh Hamdan by Machchhar’s hospital bedside, with one image showing the Dubai crown prince kissing the Indian hero pilot on the head.

Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the president of UAE, in a social media post said that the “region’s struggle with extremism persists, and justifying terrorism through hate speech is part of the danger, not its margins.

“The latest terrorist operation is a new warning that the confrontation has not ended.”

Gargash also stressed the importance of the UAE’s early and firm stance of non-tolerance “for extremism and no leniency toward its discourse, for security begins with confronting hate and drying up the sources of extremism.”

This really is how Israeli scum see their motherland yet still Indians worship and desperately bow wanting acknowledgement from the white master. Truly cringeworthy

DUBAI: The FlyDubai pilot who helped foil Wednesday’s cockpit attack deserves recognition for confronting a “serious terrorist act,” Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the president of UAE, has said.

The Indian pilot, Smit Machchhar, “deserves every bit of appreciation, for he embodied the meaning of courage and responsibility in the face of a dangerous terrorist act and a potential disaster,” Gargash said on X.

“His professionalism and moral sense in the darkest of circumstances make him a true hero. Far from the easy reduction of what happened or the adoption and promotion of conspiracy theories, vigilance and caution remain essential in confronting the risks of extremism and terrorism,” he added.

Yet again, the trioka comes together in sync. Israel, India and UAE. Surely this isn't a coincidence...

Okay, let's assume a "terrorist" attack was averted. Now what? Any consequences?

I agree with you, where is the interview of the Omani Co-pilot?

Can you rule out the possibility that Omani pilot couldn't stand the stench of the Hindu pilot anymore and lost his cool ?
Valid reason - Overwhelming obnoxious stench, led to hazardous work environment and drove him to temporary insanity.
