Pakistan Army Announces Fatah IV-ER Test

The Babus are still living in Unnis so deyrh. Those "Reasons" are long gone. Those who need to know, already know. They got satellite imagery
Sattlelight imagery doesn't work well on missiles in flight

You wanna waste a missile that cost millions of dollars on Taliban? bruhhhhhh
No way it costs millions of dollars, we are making engines and it's sensors in pak for this, expensive and hard to get modules like DMSAC and TERCOM have not been utilized for this missile.
Max $200-$300k missile, could be even more cheaper if we are really mass producing it, mind you this will be your long range work horse, we'll be spamming this missile like crazy, our BMs will be cautionary, if the indians fire those than you'll see F5 being used.

The key is try and produce as much of the fatah series in Pakistan to take advantage of lower labour rates and turn the fatah series into commodity missiles that can be more freely used. These things should not be considered as a silver bullet force.

Wasn't the whole point for the Fatah series to be expendable cheaper missiles to use in massive waves and to have a conventional strike package?

It can not be that expensive else it kind of loses its intended purpose.

Falcon, Rajput your responses are against below specific reply, which is specifically talking about "Taliban". Your thinking is accurate if its volume usage about India. Whole purpose of Rocket force command and these missiles are indian driven. But those missiles will NEVER be used against Taliban. Even if those missiles are NOT in million dollar mark and in 200K to 400K dollars still its way too expensive weapon to be used against Taliban. What its going to hit? A bunch of recruits ? They got millions of recruits to replace those. OR few mud houses Or some Toyota hiluxes ? There's nothing to justify the cost. We have tons of cheaper options against Taliban like drones or LGBs via fighter jets. Against India, it could target aircraft hangars, industrial zones, dams, and lots of lots of targets that justify the cost & value.

True, not going to happen.

Unless Army wants to test a missile and at same time receive intelligence of some target. A rare event can happen. Otherwise, cheap 1-way shahed like drones and LGBs will always be hallmark for any strikes on Afghanistan.

Quite strange that they haven’t shared the new range. Probably crossed the 1000km range for once. Perhaps around 1200km.

Here’s an AI enhanced version of the launch picture.
Range is never shared (also because it is always variable depending on the weight of the minimum viable payload). Always estimated by observers. Best to keep such things under wraps.

Drones for that. Still that domain sucks in Pakiustan Army.
Talibunnies...Balochi Bunnies run circles around the troops and kill at will , and run away. Plus its only a toyota pickup, and troops have AK only, so not much of a difficulty

In your opinion, what are the reasons that have kept our cruise missile technology stagnant (range vise) at 900-1000 km ?

Limited pocket as compare to Iranians. Frequent US sanctions on our front end companies running black market purchases. China not as generous sharing engine tech. Limited supply and procurement of turbojets from Ukraine Pakistan homegrown solution took a long time develop and mature hence we seeing Coventional line of Ra'ad and Babur in form of Fatah-IV and Taimoor. But the homegrown engine is still inefficient. Hence the range not going over 1500 KM yet.

No doubt these are being mass produced as we speak. You used the correct phrase. These Fatah missiles will serve as the conventional workhorse. Coupled with drones you have a relatively cheap and effective way of swarming your opponent.

its funny how Pakistan sucks when it comes to innovations and making something of own.
75 years and could not make a motorcycle engine is not wrong.
250 million people. Most of the population is young. Very genetically diverse, and brains the size of a peanut.

In 2 to 3 yrs these subsonic systems will become total obsolete....we need to divert our resources to super & hypersonic domain in no time .....

I have no idea how much a CM or BM would cost, but even a 100k missile is a waste to kill some low level Talibaboons, use the cheap suicide drones or some burq type missile.

It's not peanut brains... It's the lack of a generally stable environment and the vices that come with it such as uncertainty and income hoarding...
Red tape also doesn't help
