Makkah Defence Alliance: Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, news & updates

Just for the record, the Egyptians fought to recover, for the Israeli's to end up 60 miles from taking Cairo, and to get Sinai back 9 years post-conflict after an agreement.

So, yes, they are afraid of losing it again, as Israel has the upper hand in the region by neutralizing threats on its eastern front; it can fully focus on the western front if need be.
Egypt is not weak it's smart actually.... world doesn't run on emotions and not everyone has to be an emotional stupid to invite the destruction of his state....

The real question in these wars is: What's actually the win condition? What is the Saud king hoping to achieve in Yemen? If this is going on for a decade without committing to a full-scale invasion, it surely isn't about taking the land. So what's the point of that war?
That is a million dollar question, i think MBS has put too much faith in Yemeni forces which basically show p!ss poor performance, plus Houthis are like TTP for Pakistan... they are embedded in society and they have Terrain advantage, KSA can do as many strikes as they want but Houthis will eventually find a loophole to launch 1-2 BM or dones towards KSA, now in this situation Houthis have nothing to lose, they don't give a shyte about Yemen, or Yemeni people, or to turn Yemen into a successful prospering nation, but KSA has everything to lose as even 1 strike near any major city will make big headlines.

How come Saudi's seem to have zero defenses against missiles targeting their key infrastructure despite having a $70 billion military budget?

This seems worse than kuwait and bahrain, at least they still seem capable to fire a few patriots/thaads towards the incoming missiles.

Did they legitimately deplete all of their defensive missile inventory defending israel and yankee bases in the earlier phases of the war?

The Saudi wasted most of their missile defences protecting Israel and the USA it seems.

Also, Saudi is large. Very large ( as large as Europe it seems ).

I am surprised that the PAA has enough "free/spare" HQ-9's to lend one to Saudi.

Additionally, I would imagine there will be multiple layers of shorter range AD systems to defend the AD that are integrated(Chinese origin) with the HQ-9, it won't be sitting there on it own (well it should not be alone).
Nature of conflict can influence deployment of a certain weapons system. Pakistan currently isn't involved in a conventional conflict with india.

More than weapons systems it's troops on the ground for offensive is what Saudis are asking and hoping for....both Turkey and Pakistan are showing reluctance so far... let's wait and see what give and take takes place.

The question that everyone seems to have though, why aren't the Saudis using their own troops first and foremost before going around begging everyone else in the region to send in their own? It's not like they have a small population or running short on bodies due to years of attritional warfare.

It makes them look incredibly pathetic and weak.

Saudi troops can't even walk in a straight line....at best they can be used as cannon fodder for initial forays .

Yes, we all know they can't tie their own shoes. But even if you're so incompetent to the point of not being able to do anything but send in wave after wave of meat shields, then that's what you should do until you have enough survivors that have gained enough experience and metal to form a legitimate force that can actually fight. At some point they need to go through trial by fire and forge a real army that has what it takes to defend it's country and interests, or you're just not a serious nation.

Saudis have to be forced to contend with that and adapt if they want to survive the next decade, or they have no hope for existing at all in the near future. You can't have a country that large and rich full of pampered nepo babies pretending to be able to run it and defend it.

The Saudi armed forces aren’t effective, simply because they’ve never NEEDED to be effective, Well, crunch time is here boyo’s.

Historically, GCC region was the cultural backwater of the middle east , there journey from camel to Cadillac was very swift... there's a limit to what you can achieve in such a short time.
