For myself only, when it became public then under the Biden Administration, it was a dumb idea.

It remains a dumb idea.

Why would you fund the war machine of the adversary of a country you are providing military hardware and intelligence support to? Maybe not now but you get my point.

You are somewhat correct.

Russia is a major refiner of diesel fuel. That is what Trump is after. Diesel fuel. Because the prices in the US are so high and the US has a lack of refining capacity. It's no longer and "extra twenty bucks at the pump" as someone once said. It's more than that.

So Trump is trying to get diesel fuel. And Putin is likely to use that as leverage in his efforts in Ukraine.

Which is why I have been saying, when Trump got all over Zelenskyy to stop targeting Russian refineries, if I was Zelenskyy, those would be my primary target day after day after day.

Good post on the state of the war. To date, the war has been a resounding strategic defeat for Russia. Ukraine has suffered immensely, but they had no choice in the matter. Ukraine vastly exceeded expectations on the battlefield and have buried Russia in Ukraine.

1.6M dead and wounded with no end in sight, almost no movement this year on the frontline. The Russian economy stagnated, lost Syria and Venezuela. It’s so bad for Putin he’s stuck in a sunk cost fallacy.

A second DITA howitzer was destroyed while on the move in the Sumy region. The DITA is an automated system manufactured in the Czech Republic by Excalibur Army. It has a firing range of approximately 39 kilometers, a rate of fire of 6 rounds per minute, and is mounted on a Tatra 815 8×8 chassis. Ukraine received 15 of these howitzers.

The speed limit rendered some of Ukraine’s offensive drones and interceptors powerless against Russian attacks. Their conversation followed a Wall Street Journalreport revealing that Musk ordered the slowdown, though SpaceX and the White House have differing accounts about whether the world’s richest man acted alone or at the administration’s behest.

When it was first leaked, during the Biden Administration, that the US was still buying Russian oil, the Republicans lost their minds while Dopey Joe denied it.

And now here we are, what, over 4 years later, and we're back to underwriting the aggressor's war on a neighbor all because we entered into a war on behalf of a nation that seems to know nothing but war since its inception without full appreciating the global effects of that action.

Damn, I do NOT want to write a doctoral dissertation on this but may have to.

Either support Ukraine in full and give them what they need to send the Russians packing or cut them off in their entirety and let them die.
