Federal cabinet gives nod to imposition of emergency in KP; summary sent to president

I was not even aware of this localised delay/deferral. Unbelievable that this was not taking place until now in Peshawar.

The benefits are already being felt nationwide from the repatriations hitherto. Peshawar is long overdue.

Yet we are still lectured that "fauj is the problem saar!".

Who initiated Afghan Jinad & opened borders for Afghan immigrants in Pakistan in the first place? Was it PTI? Saaaar!
Same old tired narrative from you being rehashed and redeployed.

We were patient with the qom that fails to recognise our border and our sovereignty over western territories.

Patience has its limits.

Ripping our flags off aid trucks and assuming some sort of freedom of movement and some God-given right to smuggle freely as far as Swat, as well as an insidious diffusion of female-hating policy across the Durand Line, simply cannot be tolerated.

Tell us, oh merciful sage who squats in more temperate and civilised lands, would Imran have ever dared carry out today's cleansing operations?

And which military man is "redeploying" the following narrative, if I may ask?:

But IRGC also does that with their political opponents and Imranists dont seem to have a problem with them.

Ok....and? IRGC is in Iran? What does that have to do with PTI and Pakistan? Apne mulq ko dekho.

Cuts will be made to the development budget to equip the police with modern weapons and equipment Special cards will be introduced for the families of martyrs Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi expressed these views in a meeting with IG Police Zulfikar Hamid, Additional IG Kashif Alam, Chief Capital Police Officer Dr. Mian Saeed, and regional police officers

There was no dev on ground anyway, PTI corruption was on another level.

Always said KPK need to divert more money for security.

Absolutely the right approach. This state needs to be a police state. Arguably, the nation too should continue to move in this direction so as not to squander recent hard fought gains.

Like the historical facts regarding how Pakistan came into existence through people's mandate (the general elections of 1945-1947) — how Pakistan lost its Eastern Wing in 1971 when the people's mandate wasn't respected by military establishment of that time — how Pakistan's civilians continue to lack their right to self-determination because there exists a hidden state (military establishment) ABOVE the visible one...
I am not sure how any of this narrative was changed by the military and that too through its military academies as you claimed in the previous post.

I studied Pakistan Studies in the 70s and 80s in Pakistani schools (including government and private). The narrative on the founding of Pakistan has never changed.

The 1971 conflict was largely omitted because the blame was put on India for invading an independent country. The reasons for "not respecting the people's mandate" has been explained here by me. This was not a military decision alone. None of the western wing's mainstream political parties wanted Mujeeb to become the PM. They all pleaded with Yahya Khan to not give the reigns of West Pakistan to Mujeeb. The slogan attributed to ZAB of "Hum yahaan, Tum wahan" (Us here, You there) was coined not by the military leadership, rather by the western wing's polity. So the denial of mandate to AL/MuR was not just the miliary's call, it was a collective call made by the sons of the soil in the western wing of Pakistan.

Also, establishment exists in every single country and not just ours only and influences the trajectory of the country no matter who is at the helm of political affairs. In some countries the establishment is more pronounced and in others less, but it exists.

I don't disagree that the people's mandate has to be respected and our history has seen this mandate being disregarded, but I also realize that things are never simply black or white. Perhaps that is the pragmatist in me speaking vs. the idealist.

And considering what went on in Afghanistan since 1979, the gains were not small. But some here try to trivialize them. How can they forget the years between 2007-2016 when all of Pakistan was burning by the scourge of terrorism? And yet some come up with stupid posts like 'what have the security forces accomplished?'. They should instead question Imran's tacit support to the terrorists since the early 2000s and his party's tolerance of the terrorists in KPK. But their posts are instead on Mujib ur Rehman, Fatima Jinnah, Akbar Bugti. Don't be surprised one day they lionize even the harami Altaf Hussein!

This is why you and @Master Chief are among my favorite PDF Pakistanis!
Indeed, it was the collective will of West Pakistanis: Mujib had announced essentially a breakup of Pakistan with his 'Six Points'. No state would tolerate that. Study the American Civil War of the 1860s to see how a state acts in such cases.

Mandate, my a$$. Where were Imran's democratic credentials when he violated the Const. of Pakistan by throwing out the No Confidence Motion? He should have been tried for that alone. Trump also didn't accept the 2020 elections results and a time may have come where the US Deep State would send the Federal Marshals to force him out of the White House in January 2021.

Look at the scale of the encroachments.

No wonder PTI were trying to distract everyone with identity politics. They turned out worse than PPP :ROFLMAO:

It is very fortunate the fauj have a firewall for this BS. The military remains shielded from this incompetence.
