Iranian Chill Thread

Arabs are our direct neighbors, and we have been allied with some Arab groups both before and after the advent of Islam. Arabs are a diverse group in terms of ethnicity, religion, and ideology, and they cannot be generalized as simply anti-Iranian or pro-Iranian.
So? Does that mean we should sacrifice our interests to protect their interests?
In fact, that's exactly how the world does not work. You should try to weaken your immediate neighbors, not sacrifice your own interests for their sake.

If you collapse or weaken Iraq more than it is, it will fall in hands of ISIS who will be directly attacking us and our export will be disrupted (almost 10 billion USD a year). It will empower anti-Iranian forces such as Syrian Al-Qaeda, Saudi who will see a chance to invade west Iraq. What happens in Iranian Baluchistan will then happen in West-Iran. So we should protect our interests, which is wrongly interpreted as "sacrifice". In a way Iraq is a shield/buffer for Iran.

By exports, you mean charity. I'd rather let our charity to Iraq be stopped.

You wouldn't have any of these problems if you stop supporting the non-issue of Palestine. Our interests are not aligned with the interests of the Palestinians. By supporting the Palestinian cause, you're strengthening Turkey and Saudi Arabia. Both of them are our regional rivals.

Total Trade Volume: Non-oil Iranian exports to Iraq reached about $11.9 billion during the recent 1403 Iranian calendar year (2024–2025), alongside roughly $3 billion in energy and natural gas exports.

So, $11.9 billion of charity. Wonderful!

Any source that it's charity and no Iranian company benefits from exports to Iraq?
Any source that Iraq is actually paying Iran back? Because last time I checked, even the Islamic Republic didn't deny that we had frozen money and assets in Iraq. And the amount is in billion dollars already.

That's besides the fact that Iraq had shut down its borders with Iran.

In August 2026, an Iranian Central Bank official reported that Iran's export-currency repatriation rate was 68% in Iranian year 1404 (March 2025–March 2026). The remaining $4.2 billion would not necessarily be lost or frozen. It could include proceeds retained abroad, used for imports, or settled outside Iran's official financial system.
