Essentially the extended ranged IIR version of SD10A. It features local tech including two way datalink, IIR seeker, rocket motor, HOJ, 40G maneuvering makes it a versatile asset and can even engage targets at WVR ranges. GIDS claimed 100km engagement range.

all great except the range.. I hope with some modern lighter body/guidance and new propellant, we can extend the range.

From zero BVR missiles when the online forums started (still remember the PakDef days and hoping PAF had Sparrow and Darter missiles) to today - our very own FAAZ being tested on our very own JF17! Wow!

Yeah - those old days were the dark days. We never did see the R-Darter in PAF service ever - even though soo many people claimed that PAF had it, etc.

Quite possible something on the lines of pl15 with dual pulse rocket motor and more efficient propellent. FAAZ 2 perhaps?

Logically no reason given that the missile has a 2-way datalink, that should in theory can be guided by an AEW&C from afar. The Mirage/F7( and also the F16 / J10CE) then basically becomes a carrier platform for launching it.

As to whether PAF will make the investment to test/certify this missile on those platforms are up for grabs given that the PAF are meant to be retiring them in favour of the JF17C etc.

And - it will be really interesting if this missile ever turns up on an F16 ..

Also the light grey nosed Blk 1s, are they MLUed ones??

All blk 1s were upgraded to blk 2 standard during major overhaul stage.

I think that's all being done

Pakistan will have various Chinese and possibly Turkish A.D as a spear tip

But fill out our A.D network with our own products

It will be interesting to see under Mecca and other pacts what funding and joint projects will be available in future
