It will only be bad for Israel as Iran will likely focus on developing its capability to strike at Israel in the future. Though even that would take Iran much time. Israel wouldn't even feel a need to strike again if a deal was made today for at least another 2-3 years.

he has analysed Iran's trade data and found that Iran has hugely increased traffic at land borders and the Caspian Sea to offset the effects of the US blockade of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar.

The most important land crossings for Iranian trade to defeat the naval blockade, by numbers:

1. Iraq - $8.9 billion in trade (2024-25), 10 border crossings across 1,600km land border. Maleki says this border is difficult to blockade given "deep commercial integration".

2. Turkey - $4 billion in trade. Since the USN blockade began in April 2026, truck traffic is up 60% and rail exports are up 300%.

3. Caspian Sea - $3.4 billion in trade (2024-25), majority being imports. After the blockade, Caspian cargo jumped roughly 50% (March–August 2026). Maleki says this is the one corridor the USN cannot reach.

Others: Azerbaijan and Armenia, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (the least important).

Worth noting this only accounts for official customs data, and doesn't capture grey market smuggling etc. Maleki's conclusion is that Iran "planned this pivot and is funding it."

If the American people's opinion(via their recent voting in midterm elections) is that the Iran war has gone bad for US, how can some people on PDF be saying the war has gone well, aka its a win, for America? Are those PDFers more American than Americans themselves?

You can't say the war is going badly (thereby implying losing )for Iran and US at the same time- no! One side must be winning while the other side is losing.

US can also be bombing southern Iran daily and still be losing the war- because by only bombing from the air while having NO relevant ground component to compliment it's air war effort(and that wouldn't even guarantee a victory), US had by default lost the war.

I am just calling things what they are- any stupid moves or assi.otilne US and Iran make m, they will have eto bearthe consequences, which are independent of our opinions on this thread.

Is your gut feeling that Trump will look for a way out, or double down and try to achieve "total victory" in Iran? Iran is being firm on its conditions for a deal, which will be tough for Trump to sell, but continuing the war will also have a significant cost for Trump domestically.
