HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

Delivery rate is directly proportional to order qty..
The total order qty was 20 IOC+ 20 FOC. .
While the main focus was on getting MK1A ready for March 24 deadline.
Wait till March 25 to know about the actual production rate.

OK, easier if you just state you do not know the answer....

The answer is 11

The source is below

Anyway what's with the how many where delivered question

They have deliverd all the 40 mark one basic Tejas fighters end of the matter

We now moved to mark 1a first batch of 83
Then 2028/2029 to second batch hopefully 97 planes
I don't think anybody will be wondering how many where delivered in 2023

Sorry, the link stats 11 by March 2024, but how many years of production does that 11 represent?

Of course it matters how many were made in the past. If HAL can only deliver a handful of jets a year (say 2-3), how does it expect to ramp up to 16 a year? Even with a new production line that is just 4-6 planes a year. See the issue here?

Do not engage with low IQ individuals. He doesn't know concept of order size, and idle time. Their country starves so that weapon production doesn't stop. So he wants to apply their template over our case.

In answer to your question how can India deliverv more than 3=fighters a year

See details below

see details of new assembly plant opened in readiness for mark 1a

Did you really expect any serious fighter manufacturers in the world to open assembly plants for 20 fighters a year when the order from the air force was just 40 planes in mark one version initially

Hal.waited for confirmed orders before beginning to enhance production rates

Like we keep on explaining the cost of 83 Tejas planes includes new assembly plants new infrastructure more technicians bigger manufacturing footprint

This is how all manufacturers work.globally

In my Clip.they confirm.now mark 1a is ordered and the new assembly plant is ready 16 fighters can be delivered yearly and they are looking to open up nasik.plant which use to assembly Mig fighters historically to build Tejas

There will 3 or 4 sites delivering Tejas

Serious money is being thrown at this not peanuts buddy

Why so impatient ! World is not gonna end this year ! Wait till next March !!

The unit cost of Tejas mark 1a is said to be around 42 million dollars each
For 83 planes that equates to less than 4 billion dollars
Yet the total deal is costing over 6 billion dollars .

,@ Yasser this extra 2 billion dollars partially includes assembly plants
machines jigs other Infrastructure technicians laboratory work ....etc

You do not spend billions on new
infrastructure until orders are confirmed

With the second pending order of 97 planes in mark 1a I expect less fixed costs as the infrastructure is in place already so I also expect faster deliveries of second batchm

Imo the air force will get 180 new Aesa equipped fighters in 8 to 10 years max
That's 18 fighters a year but it will. Snow ball to max 32 fighters by end of this decade as Indian manufacturers really get to grips with indengious fighter production rates

IE from 6 to 10 to 12 then 16 then 24 finally 32...planes per year delivered

Tejas will be the sole fighter jet in the IAF equipped with Gallium Nitride AESA Radar, Rafales have Gallium Arsenide AESA Radar.

The Tejas can match or beat it's potential 4th generation adversaries in a in Bvr engagement
Reason is three fold
Very low radar cross section non stealthy though far lower than F16 JF17 or even J10...
New generation Aesa radar based on gallium.nitrade technology
Finally new generation smokeless Astra Bvr with ranges of 100km and 160km

Where the F16/j10 beats Tejas mark1a is range
Payload
TWR

Dog fights too could get tricky if Tejas runs out of fuel

Dutch media report

HAL CMD's interview where he talks about the Tejas Mk1A plan and the plan for Tejas Mk2. Can see the Tejas assembly line in Bangalore in this video.

As soon as the 18 contracted Tejas Mk1 trainers are built (LT-5206 and LT-5207 were visible in this video from a couple of months ago), this line too will switch to building Tejas Mk1As.

so no once can provide a straight answer to how many Tejas were made in one year despite 10 more posts and multiple long paragraphs.....

11 Tejas were delivered in FY24 ending 31st March. More assembly lines are coming online this year and next year. HAL will deliver 24 Tejas per year from next financial year i.e. 2025-26.

Okay, here is the lesson for toddlers.

Ordersize reflects production rate .
For example, Pakistan didn't bother to bring J10C assembly for order of 20.
