Exactly! Thank you for saying that. Even the refinery was to come with guaranteed high dollar returns. We DONT need that!

Diamir Bhasha which is supposed to eventually rid us of the expensive electricity will become our shackle for another 30 years.

This current lot will retire and die and we will be left holding the crap.

Pakistan has a total installed power generation capacity of 46,035 MW as of 31 January 2024.

Good news in Electricity production.


And bad news in Steel industry:

To be fair energy price has direct impact on steel production all over the world but it seems that price of energy had more negative effect on Pakistan's steel production compared to other countries.

I think, Pakistan has to increase Tax net, demonitize all big notes, limit on cash carrying limit, force ppl to use digital transactions. Use AI to close revenue leakage. No point in increasing tax rates, only way is increase tax net.

Bro I kinda agree with this question. These same asshole economic matter journalists l write long articles about these issues and when steps that are becoming harder we wait start to happen they put across stupid loaded questions like two but trolls.

The story of Pakistan’s economy. We are where we are due to self inflicted wounds. Nationalization, IPP, Inflated imports based growth model of 2010 onwards.
 
It seems many major MNC Investors aren’t allowed to take their profits/dividends home at the moment. No wonder FDI is limited.
