PAF Conducts successful test of indigenously developed FAAZ BVRAAM

Worldwide coverage 🤔

You know, in all sincerity, the Turks were the first one's to do it in the Muslim world and they didn't get as much hype as we did...

I think that has to do with us having our own LCA with approximately 40,000 flight hours under its belt.

No doubt having a bird that we can readily integrate sub-systems onto has great benefits.

We are moving from offering a single product to building eco-systems for our military.

What a Leap !

Completion of our SHORAD/LOMAD will also be a huge Leap for us.

In sha Allah !

The absolute most fascinating thing over the past couple of days has been how not a single Indian member has come forward to congratulate Pakistan, despite being glued to this thread 24/7. It boggles the mind.

Indians need not to worry the missile doesn't have surma on, no taveez, and no Muslim head cap, so its not going to be scary.

• The Pakistani Army announced the successful launch of the first air-to-air missile developed locally by Pakistan, named "Faza," in a step described as a significant advancement toward enhancing self-reliance in defense industries and aerospace technology. A statement from the Pakistani military's media directorate clarified that the missile is equipped with an advanced guidance system, designed to track and engage hostile aerial targets at ranges exceeding 100 kilometers for the initial version, reaching approximately 180 kilometers in the upcoming version.

No important visible changes in the airframe so physical limitations are same as SD 10 .. it's the IIR seeker that gives it a significant edge.
It's a trade off really, you trade off active guidance with more jamming resistance and passive homing. Each configuration has its own advantages and shortcomings. Good things is that it's a start, I suspect this to be the launch testing. We may see more tests ahead like active engagement etc before the missile enters serial production. For RF version, I am assuming that that version is now in active development with Turks rather than GIDS. This is an intermediate solution until the joint BVR comes to fruititon or otherwise.
