You mean local construction? If yes, then how many more?

RSNF has recently concluded the deal as the 5th and final unit of Al-Jubail class (Avante 2200) joined the fleet from Navantia, Spain.

RSNF were looking for additional 8 corvettes after the completion of Al-Jubail (Avante 2200) class acquisition.

The Korean frigate HDF-3800SA will be made in Saudi Arabia in a JV.. another milestone after the Avante 2200 corvette..

So, RSNF has finalized Korean design among other contenders, any idea how many? RSNF were looking for 6 heavy armed FFGs.

RSNF is interested in acquiring 8 SSKs, so in light of this development, Korean SSK (KSS-III) is almost inevitable.

The new Saudi combat drone “SAMOOM

View attachment 41541

“SAMOOM” can fly up to 50 hours and have a range of more than 250 km, in addition to its ability to use SATCOM for satellite linking, which gives it a much greater range.

“SAMOOM” has a maximum altitude range of 13,800 meters, a maximum take-off weight of 3.3 tons, and can fly with a payload of 1.05 tons of ammunition and armament.

“SAMOOM” uses several electro-optical camera systems, including ARGOS II-HD, whose industry rights have been “fully owned” by Saudi Intra Company, and the local AETOS system, which is entirely manufactured by Intra Company.

“SAMOOM” has 6 suspension points under the wings and a suspension point under the hull to carry several different types of armament and ammunition, including the new Saudi SHALFA-1 and SHALFA-2 (Shalfa) munitions also manufactured by the same company Intra.. In addition to bombs based on MK-82 bombs such as the GBU-12.

With recent shopping spree & upcoming acquisitions, RSNF will be a formidable force in both Red Sea & in Gulf region.
  • 04 - MMSC FFGs (Under construction)
  • 05 - Avante 2200 Corv (Joined the Fleet)
  • 06 - HDF 3800SA FFGs (Contract signed)
  • 08 - Avante 2200 Corv (Contract Signed)
  • 03 - La fayette FFGs (on Active duty)
  • 04 - Madinah class corv (on Active duty)
  • 04 - Badr class OPVs (on Active duty)
  • 08 - KSS(III) SSKs (under negotiations)

Seems, Madinah class corvettes & Badr class OPVs will be phased out upon the arrival of MMSC FFGs/HDF3800SA FFGs & additional Avante 2200 corv.

Seems its a copy of Chinese TW328-A (HALE drone)
A copy of Akinci or influenced by it.
EL EQAB or the TW328-A is influenced by the IAI EITAN

The second one, the SAMOOM, is more of MQ-9 series and CH-5/Wing Long II. Everybody is copying everybody.
TAI ANKA = MQ-9
TAI AKSUNGUR = IAI EITAN/HERON

Saudi Arabia and South Korea officially announce work on joint development of a sixth-generation fighter

Saudi Arabia and South Korea officially announced the promotion of joint development of a sixth-generation fighter.

According to a Defense Ministry official on November 30, senior officials from the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) and the Ministry of Defense visited Saudi Arabia in complete secrecy for days.

ADD is South Korea's most secret weapons development department.

Specifically, both countries will jointly develop a sixth-generation fighter, MUM-T, and UCAV drones.

The South Korean government also stressed that the development period could be significantly reduced thanks to the success of the Korean KF-21 fourth-generation fighter jet programme.

Many destructive strategic missiles and drones for the KF-21 are under development at high speed.

It is worth noting that the KF-21 has powerful sensors and computing capabilities, and through this, there could be an excellent version of the KF-21 for electronic warfare.

The fighter will also be equipped with air-to-air missiles (short-range, long-range), a long-range stealth cruise missile (KALCM), an anti-radiation missile, a supersonic cruise missile (multi-purpose), a hypersonic cruise missile (multi-purpose), and a ballistic missile that launches From the air, EMP missile and much more.

With these missiles, the KF-21 will almost serve as a bomber.

Basically, most arms deals with South Korea are treated as secret, especially in the Middle East. It has exported important weapons to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia for a long time, but some of them were recently revealed. Comprehensive cooperation will take shape soon.

What should we expect?

Expectations are soaring for the highly anticipated 6th generation fighter aircraft, a co-venture between South Korea and Saudi Arabia, centered around the KF-21. The industry is abuzz with speculation that this advanced jet may possess a shield of invisibility that surpasses any of its kind..

Imagine avionics revolutionized. Predictions suggest the fighter will boast advanced technology in navigation, communication, and guidance systems. These leaps in technology are intended to handle evolving combat scenarios, empowering the jet to maintain its superiority.

That’s not all. Picture a fighter jet accompanied by an equally proficient co-pilot – artificial intelligence. AI is poised to play an essential role in everything, from piloting to the control of weapon systems. Furthermore, what sets the 6th generation fighter apart from its rivals is its expanded operational range. Aspects like fuel capacity and engine efficiency will influence the final specs, but we can anticipate superior performance compared to its contemporaries.

Finally, think about its armaments. Imagine a diverse range of air-to-air and air-to-ground weaponry, from missiles to precision-guided bombs, stationed in the jet’s arsenal. Indeed, you might be surprised to discover that the 6th generation fighter could potentially serve as a mobile base for deploying drones, adaptable for reconnaissance or combat missions.

The KF-21 Boramae will evolve until it possess characteristics of sixth generation fighters
