how can they do their jobs operating such obsolete systems?
CCS will keep flying them as long as these both platforms are operational in the air force.

I don't think we will go for J10S, because we have JF-17B for that purpose, and major problem for getting J10S is definitely the engine (AL-31F)
The serial production of J-10 started in 2003 after 18 years of development. Up to 250 J-10/10A/10Ss are in service with PLAAF and PLAN. Currently J-10S is still in production, powered by the indigenous WS-10B engine. All naval J-10AH/SHs were transferred to PLAAF in early 2023.

Can you gives the source sir that's J10S are being built around WS-10B engines recently and J10/J10A/J10S has a different intake than J10C (variable ramp intake) so is it wise to induct J10S with PAF in different configuration?

engine replacement has always been a major project. This means that India has tied its current Tejas MK1a and future MK2 fighter jets to the United States. For countries that want to become superpowers in the future, the lack of domestically produced military turbofan engines can easily cause engineering delays. Americans now supply their f404 engines, including the future f414 and so-called technology transfer, but there is actually a question of when the transfer will be truly completed. The United States is best at grasping the key points of others. The current f404 is said to be limited to 20 units per year in India, and the question of when their future mk2 will eventually be put into service is a matter of sight and no answer. As for the future quantity of J-10, I think Pakistan will decide based on India's introduction of fighter jets。PS: Anyone sitting in a high-level position is smart, but the corrupt transactions and insider information of the weapon lobbying team are unknown. Otherwise, who could have imagined that their Cavelli local engine development plan would have been interrupted for so long with long-term installation targets,And the United States provides 20 f404 engines each year, including backup engines. The production quantity and production plan of mk1a will definitely be limited, and the extension of production time is a disadvantageous factor for service and future updates, which provides more buffer period for the development of j10 and jf16 in Pakistan,Because India currently does not seem to have a clear plan to introduce fighter jets,The main threat is still the upgraded su30 mki
Why you think re-engine would be F404?

4000 hours in 20 years means, 200 hours of flying each year.

And BTW, Kaveri has already achieved 500 hours of hot section life, this is similar to RD-33.
