Given there were other helicopters in the convoy - they should been able to make contact/report the state of the missing helicopter. Hopefully everyone is ok..

Helicopter in Iranian president's convoy in accident - reports​

Rescuers in Iran are trying to reach a helicopter involved in “an incident” while traveling with an entourage including the Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi, Associated Press (AP) reports.

The incident, which involved one helicopter in a convoy of three, was reported by Iranian state television on Sunday, which described it as an accident.

There was no immediate elaboration on what happened to the helicopter, or who was on board.

Raisi had been traveling in Iran’s East Azerbaijan province, AP reports.

The weather change was sudden. That’s not the issue. The issues are far deeper. Lax and practically nonexistent security.
 
Surely the helicopter would have a radio beacon of some sort and that would make detection of location easy via drone?

This is not accident it seems, is this normal for state heads to fly in such weather conditions without any back up arrangements? otherwise why would iran security protocols allow such high-profile official to fly in such conditions.
 
3 helicopters left from the same place to the same destination and only 1 had to make an emergency landing ... the one carrying President Raisi and FM Abdollahian

This kind of information giving pattern is followed in Iran when something bad happens in and they ( decision maker ) need time to decide what they have to do ...

I am reading first reports that American sources believe Raisi did not survive

we have to expect the worst
