Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

How many head of states (even if ceremonial post as Iran) died in helicopter crash.
This could be similar to the Bipin Rawat crash.

Early in January 2022, anonymous defence officials attached to the team indicated that the inquiry was complete and the probable cause of the accident was Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT), which occurs when the pilot is in full control of the aircraft but due to faulty situational awareness the aircraft strikes the terrain. The chopper was reportedly flying at a low altitude when it entered a rolling cloud cover that drastically reduced visibility. In the process of trying to fly out of the cloud cover, it hit a cliff and crashed

A very certain future is the intense interference by the United States in the presidential elections to be held in less than two months.
More economic sanctions will be imposed, claiming that the elections were rigged and not free, and pro-American groups in the country will riot, claiming that the elections were rigged, and Israel will take advantage of the rioting to carry out terrorist attacks that will claim many lives.
Then the world's media reports that the Iranian government is oppressing its citizens.
Israel, the US, and the EU are rejoicing, while only a grim future awaits Iran.

I remember the way he handled the whole ambassador in Syria assassination and Iran's missile/drone barrage and its aftermath to the international media. Like a boss who owns a diplomacy university.

God I hope not. That would be so bad on so many levels, least of all satisfying all the ones on here who were wishing for it to be the case so they can all be happy witnessing the 'cool side' of war. Not a good thing considering it would also most certainly kickstart Armageddon.

Which interestingly enough, the zionist came out within 1/2 an hour of the crash denying any responsibility. You think they're worried? I think so. They definitely don't want another taste of April 13th but on a thermonuclear level lol.

That FM was a solid diplomat. Recently managed the border escalation between Iran-Pak really well. Even had some visits in Pakistan.

Iran should now become bolder to take revenge of President Raisi's assassination and open up the Guerrilla warfare front from Lebanon or Syria against Israel. This will ensure destruction of Israel in 3 -4 years.

May the gentlemen rest in peace, and may Allah make it easy for the families and affected people, I really liked the FM guy, was a solid diplomat.

What I am thinking is this could have been even worse, it could have been Khamenie flying in the ill-fated chopper.
And I believe this incident will result in overhaul of aviation hardware with added safety/security and in aerial reconnaissance as well and they will try to make aerial travel more secure.

Looking at the site bro. No one could have survived that. Sad news for Iran and the families of the deceased.
Woke up today and saw at least 10 posts on this thread reported for trolling. 1st time that’s happened on my watch. Not even a Pak v Ind thread have I seen that.
Sad to see a thread like this achieving this milestone…….
Agreed, you like or dislike someone personally but trolling on dead is not good.

And Raisi was supposedly next inline to take Khamenei's place, wasn't he? I'm wondering is Iran's policy the standard like most countries with presidents who pass that the vice president automatically assumes the position? So it would be Mohammad Mokhber of course. How popular is he and would he get reelected? What about Ahmedinejad? I know he's a current of the member of the Expediency Discernment Council and from what I remember, he was somewhat popular but not among the clerics, right? Would there be a possibility that he would come back into the picture?

Condolences to the Iranian people for the loss of not only their president but their FM and other top officials.

The VP holds the post for 6 months and the Iranian have to hold elections; so around November 20th.

Thai couldn’t have come at a worse time. Not only due to the war in Gaza but the succession plans for the supreme leader are also in flux, supposedly.

They also had an election a little over a week ago.

Btw, on the helicopter, Iran will definitely need a replacement, especially for VIP transport, and will probably seek a platform from Russia; probably a VIP version of the Mi-38. A platform that can fly high enough to go over any terrain features, especially considering Iran is a plateau of a country with many mountain ranges and valleys. They really have to retire those UH-1Ns, along with alot of their old equipment.
