I feel that it is too early to immediately rule out Israel, which has killed Iranian officials by any means possible, as a suspect in this case.
Israel has even used remote-controlled machine guns via satellite to assassinate Iranian scientists.
It is Israel that has infiltrated Iran at will and carried out numerous assassinations and bombings.
In Russia, Ukrainian special forces have easily entered the heavily guarded air force base and planted bombs on planes, resulting in a string of bombings and losses.
Conspiratorial assassinations are easier than people think, and the only problem is the will to carry them out and the strength of the position to go unpunished.

Israeli infiltration of Iranian security apparatus is well known. You can't walk ten feet in West Los Angeles without running into expat Iranian Jews, Iranian Bahais, or Farsi speaking Armenians, all of whom hate the Iranian government.

There's no reason to think too highly of Israelis. They would be nothing more than ghetto rats without American and European support. Israel would be gone in a day without Western money, technology, weapons, intelligence etc.
