lol we saw how much hoops turkey had to go through to even get access to few handful f-16s while Greece (and India, if it wants) are fast tracked for f-35s. Idea of NATO committing suicide for turkey is preposterous but something the godless seculars in Turkey delude themselves with.

The reason India refused to buy the F-35 is because Pakistan is the USA's biggest non-NATO ally. The main reason India wants a stealth fighter jet is to bomb terror hideouts in Pakistan without being detected on radar. As an American fighter jet, the F-35 cannot be used against its ally Pakistan.

But, Turkey which is also a NATO member had a clear use case for the F-35, its puzzling why they chose the S-400 over the F-35.

Americans told them if they get rid of the S-400s they could get back to the F-35 club and were offered Patriot systems as well. They left that open as an option. Of course...how does one get rid of S-400s? Give them to Ukraine? Return them to Russia without a refund? Sell them to a middle-eastern country?

Turkey says the US was not initiating the process of delivering the Patriot air defense system to Turkey despite multiple requests. I don't know whether it was due to bureaucratic inefficiency of the US or fear of angering neighboring countries of Turkey, but Turkey says they decided to buy the S-400 from Russia because the US was not selling the Patriot.

you think the US would allow the use of the F-35 against Pakistan? Pakistan is the biggest non-NATO ally of the USA. India doesn’t buy Fighter jets from the USA for the same reason. And F-35 is not some ordinary fighter jet like F16, F-35 is a much more complex machine, it's like a flying computer and would be useless under American sanctions.
Turkey is a different case. They are a NATO member, and their interests align with the West. Geographically, Turkey is also part of the West, and their requirement for fighter jets is also less.

They were almost ready with their indigenous AA systems. Unless they needed the S-400 to copy parts of it and make SIPER. No idea.

SIPER wasn't almost ready in 2019. It hasn't been commissioned yet. Also, SIPER & SA-21 growler are not comparable. Completely different system based on different technologies.
