This conflict won't end in 500 years.

It is inevitable. However, all the U.S & Nato is going to try to attrit Russia as much as they can before Russia's inevitable victory. So, this slow war will probably speed up soon and Russia will really be on the move, but then it will slow way down as Russia nears Kiev.

Russians don't want Kiev. They just want Donbas which has coal. Coal can produce electricity.

At the rate things are going for Ukraine yes.

Momentum is now shifting back towards Ukraine and Russia is losing the initiative. Russias opportunity for a breakthrough was in January-April. As we head towards the end of the year and early next year I expect the situation to continue to improve for Ukraine.

Only major risk I see for Ukraine is a Trump victory and cessation of aid next year. If Biden wins a second term, Russia is majorly screwed.

I don’t know what world you’re living in if you think this war is about to speed up and Russia is going to near Kyiv.🤣

It's pretty much guaranteed the US failed to kill Putin and install a pro US president in Moscow.

It's been a month now. that you foresee a reconquest by Ukraine. But advances of Russian troops are always evident. If they open fronts like the one towards captured Staromaiorske / sunny again, the Ukrainians will not have troops available to cover them, and this seems to me to be an excellent Russian ploy.

Russia has a winning military strategy, Ukraine and NATO have a PR strategy. The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on.

I never said anything about a reconquest. I said Russia is losing the initiative and momentum is swinging back towards Ukraine. Ukraine shouldn’t think about any major offensive actions until summer 2025 at the earliest.

No it doesn’t, Russia hasn’t achieved any strategic or operational breakthrough in the last 8 months. They’ve made some tactical gains at the cost of tens of thousands of men and thousands of pieces of equipment. Their attrition level is enormous with not much to show for it.
