Four of their five most searched destinations this summer are in the region, with Bali topping the list.

It was followed by Singapore and Bangkok, Agoda reported based on its search data for May and June.

Dubai and Kuala Lumpur completed the top five.

Krishna Rathi, country director for Agoda for India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, said the allure of Southeast Asia continues to captivate Indian travelers as they seek out new experiences and leisure opportunities.

"The diversity of destinations like Bali, with its serene beaches and rich traditions, along with the urban excitement of cities like Singapore and Bangkok, serves a broad spectrum of travel preferences.

"Furthermore, the many searches for Dubai and Kuala Lumpur show an inclination towards combining shopping, entertainment and cultural engagement."

Thailand and Malaysia have waived visas for Indians.

Other Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam are also considering visa-free entry for them.

Yeah, its a good cheap option to fly out of the country and go to a foreign land for a lot of people here. During high season Nov - March, its often cheaper, both flights and stay, to go to Thailand than Goa or the Andamans. Macau, Dubai are very popular options too.

I have traveled to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Bali of ASEAN. And I find, you would have better fun-experience than living in Western countries like Australia 🕳️

Its cheaper to fly to Thailand or Sri Lanak or Nepal for a vacation than any Indian tourist place like Goa.

We find Buddhist countries like Combodia, Thailand, japan, our traind spies like Sri Lanka and Burma, etc are generations of "Siddhartha", the son of Hindu king.

We are Siddhartha in Hindustan while they are Buddha followers. And commonlty stands in these generations of Hindutva, which include most "home" religions including Sikh, Jain etc also.....

The "foreign" religion like Islam have been less seen to having been religious followership for Hindutva 🕳️

yes, if you look at making the most from your holiday then Vietnam, Thailand is the best choice. cost is lower, beach more nicer. summer in Australia can be tough. the temperature is extremley hot.

that´s because Vietnam invests lots of money into the infra. tourists want where they can get the most from the money. we will beat Thailand in tourism. just a matter of years. Nha trang, where I came from. video from a youtuber in french, but you can get get the impression how the city looks like. lots of improvement. not long ago, all looked very dirty, very poor.

Viet, traditionally, since 1970s, Vietnam has been rated poorer and below standard country than even Bangladesh. Check the news/history and then talk here.... 🙂

If your industries are because of lower labour cost, 🕳️, which attracted FDI to Vietnam, then you would maintain that certain living standard of lower labour cost of your country. You won't exceed living standards of your fathers/history.....

From here, I find even Combodia is much more attractive tourist place than Vietnam. The Thailand is above 'standard' of Vietnam's thinking capabilities 🙂

Yes, history of living standards of Laos matches with Vietnam's living standard. You both countries look good only until you both maintain living standard below Bangladesh type countries, the truth about history of you both.
You won't be able to do better than your fathers/elders/ history.🙂

ASEAN region share closer cultural relations with India.
We always find ASEAN nations show more respect to Indian passport holders as compared to Western one 🕳️

Indian embassy in Bali would be top of their list.

Bali is full of Hindu temples I saw, during my visits of ASEAN....
It's one of those destinations including Thailand and Combodia type countries with whom we are religiously allied since history 👍

We find Indians and Chinese have cultural influence in ASEAN region and the Bali is one among those hindu-buddhist tourist destinations 🙂

Rising demand for short-haul travel: Indian tourists flock to Southeast Asia amid geopolitical tensions

In contrast to long-haul travel, which has seen some softening amid geopolitical tensions since summer, short-haul, easy-to-access destinations such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Nepal have remained relatively unaffected and continue to attract interest from Indian travellers, travel companies said. :coffee:

"While travellers have considered delaying or postponing plans, Southeast Asia has emerged as a go-to destination for those seeking familiar experiences. Countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, and the Philippines have seen a 50% rise in bookings compared to last year," said Manjari Singhal, chief growth and business officer at Cleartrip. “Additionally, airfares to Vietnam and Indonesia have dropped, making these destinations more accessible for budget conscious holidaymakers,” she added.

The benefit of visa free or easy visa entry has only served to fuel demand from late booker segments for Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia, Mauritius and Seychelles, said Neeraj Singh Dev, executive vice president and head, e commerce, and domestic and short haul holidays at Thomas Cook (India) and SOTC Travel. "Our pipeline post reopening of schools shows continued momentum from the young professionals segment, especially for weekends and extended weekends,” he added.

🇮🇳
