Meet the man behind induction of F16 in PAF

Always take Wiki information with a grain of salt.

In this case it is accurate to the point it was offered to both India and Pakistan. It looks from this thread at least Pakistani air force personnel evaluated it. I do not know if Indian air force personnel evaluated it.

Yes Mickey Abbas indeed is a great asset to Paf. He was the ACAS flight safety and led the investigation of Zia’s c130 crash. He knows a lot of the details but because he is very pro America he will probably not divulge the secrets. He was a 2 handicap golfer as well..the best golfer PAF has produced .

Back then I see where the PAF and IAF were coming from. In retrospect I think it would have been a perfect opportunity to build aerospace industrial base for both India and Pakistan

Yup that's the biggest advantage with F20 Pakistan could have.

I don’t think just being pro-America is a reason - everything from Gen Begs family going to the US just before the crash to the way it was handled could point to a conspiracy but the key takeaway is how easily the United States manipulate Pakistan’s system.

Just be glad it did not translate to procurement all the time since that too was pushed in negotiations when buying F-16s. Some good officers managed to get a lot more in the F-16s everytime when their US counterparts pushed back in giving certain pieces.
