I have no illusions that BNP led by Tareq Zia will be any better than Hasina and AL.

Its almost guaranteed BNP-Jamaat will be back in power. If the students continue to demand reforms, they will face harsh treatment from a BNP-Jamaat alliance too. Mark my words.

Hasina was bad, but things can be far more worse.

OTOH this a golden opportunity for BNP and Jamaat to prove that they have changed. That this time they have learned to be a great leadership.

Does BNP and Jamaat actually have a plan for BD economy and governance? Hopefully its more substantial than just «lets get revenge on Awami League and Hasina».

You cannot expect a leopard to change its spots or in this case a snake to be pet. If the Bangladesh army or civil society has any love for their country, they should ban parties like jamaat , bnp, along with awami league for good. If that is not possible then ban tareque zia or anyone from that family along with hasinas family to run again for office for the next 10-15 yrs atleast.
