Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

Don't you guys have quotas for Sindhis in Sind ? I heard it from a Urdu background Pakistani from Karachi

No. In Pakistan quota is based on province share in population. In Sindh its divided further between rural and urban share of population. There is no special quota for Sindhi speaking people.

What Hasina was trying to pull here is worse then dictatorship.

It does not matter, if the new government decides to give access to an air base in BD for the Americans. It exposes Indian NE and eastern regions to American surveillance and the Chinese Tibetan areas. Not to mention, they will increase meddling in Burma.
First of all, if the Bengali people want it, then we will respect the decision of the Bengalis. It is an internal affair of Bangladesh and there is no reason for us to interfere.

Secondly, the competition between China and the United States is mainly in the field of global order and one or two bases cannot make much of a difference.

Thirdly, southwestern China is the Tibetan plateau and pristine forests, and Bengal's bases do not threaten our economic zone.

Fourth, we hope that the Indians will respect the choice of the Bengali people and refrain from meddling in Bengal's internal affairs. Do not make shameless moves.

This is correct.

1. There is no solid information that the US wanted a base to start with, we only had rumors. As for money, the US always has money for foreign military bases, they don't have the political will and/or focus on this matter at this time. The US, right before the election is too busy and too messy to focus on such a non essential matter. They have far bigger fish to fry, such as Gaza and Ukraine issue, they are fumbling and limping as we speak.

2. The US was also definitely NOT behind removal of Hasina.

3. I can't see how any base in BD improves USs' military strategic situation against Chine to start with.

4. Finally, even if there is a US base in BD (which I don't want), it won't present as a challenge to China.

But USA was against Hasina govt, that much is clear. Just like USA was against Imran Khan.

And since both countries are flawed democracy with weak institutions, it was not hard to predict Hasina downfall after relations with USA turned sour. In many ways Bangladesh "democracy" was worse, with just one party rule and opposition in jail.

False.
.
1. Hindus aren't targeted specifically. Awami leaders who happens to be hindu are being targeted. Hindus are awami league vote bank so they have to face it in this political environment. No public mandirs were vandalized general muslims and Jamayat e Islami is actively protecting them. Some private mandirs owned by awami leaders were vandalized.
.
And there is no power struggle as of now. Student leaders have the last say...

Which is better? one party rule or anarchy?

Following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, miscreants vandalized and set fire to the house of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, MP of Narail-2 constituency, on Monday.

Additionally, they set fire to the District Awami League office and vandalized District Awami League President Subash Chandra Bose’s houses.

In Narayanganj, miscreants vandalized the residence of Shamim Osman, the Member of Parliament for the Narayanganj-4 constituency.

They also targeted and vandalized the district Awami League office.

In Comilla, the house of AKM Bahauddin Bahar, the MP for the Comilla-6 (Sadar) constituency, was set on fire.

A mob stormed Bahar's house in the Manoharpur Munsefbari area of Comilla city, causing extensive damage before setting the property ablaze.

While I generally agree that everyone should be allowed to stand, BD needs to move to ban the names AL and BNP as they represent a failed past.

Also certain people like Khaleda Zia and others need to be excluded from ever holding office again as their previous ineptness and corruption can never be allowed again.

What we need is to dismantle the corrupt infrastructure of both BNP and AL but still allow people that lean towards at least some of the policies of those parties to form new parties with a "clean sheet".
so you are saying that whatever democratic infrastructure and equity Bangladesh created in the last 52 years has to be dismantled and you guys will create someting new from grounds up ? with people who have zero administration experince

So, you are saying that the democratic infrastructure and equity that Bangladesh has created over the last 52 years should be dismantled, and you will create something new from the ground up? With people who have zero administrative experience?

For a country like Bangladesh, where not all voters are necessarily intellectually capable of selecting the right candidate, is this a feasible approach?

Arab spring is failed because of Arab as people is difficult to make a compromise between themselves. You even can see small Palestinian divided between Fatah and Hamas.

Their own mistake, not USA mistake that make the failure of Arab spring movement. Sudan later dont learn either.

No idea why anyone would want to compare secular and homogenous BD'shis with Arabs at all here.

Yes BD is likely to be less stable than it was before and economic growth may slow down a little from over the last 15 years, but BD itself is likely to keep moving forward.

I do not think that BNP-Jamat can revert things back to 2006 anymore as the society has moved on and the younger generation that was instrumental in overthrowing Hasina/AL won't allow them to anyway.

Somewhat optimistic that things will turn out ok for BD in the end.

You did not read my post properly.

All I said is that previous leaders like Khaleda need to be banned and that organisations like BNP and AL need to be dismantled.

That would mean the corrupt and thuggish structures of these 2 parties are gone and we can start with a "clean slate".

This does not mean that lower ranking people with administrative experience from both BNP and AL cannot set up new parties. This could even be previous ministers that were relatively "clean" by BD standards.

Whatever emerges now cannot be any worse than the previous structures and so there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Don't say South Asians, you're lumping us all in with these freaks.

For the last few months, they were jeering and gloating when the only people getting killed were civilian protesters. What changed? The stooge government collapsed! So now apparently it's an all out slaughterfest and the only people being targeted are Hindus! What a coincidence, no? After long protests against the government, Bangladeshis somehow realize their true enemies are Hindus and decide to go all out against them!

It's a fuckin joke and of course the people who buy it the most are Bhartis, because not only are they very stupid, but they also have a fanatical obsession with Sanatan and/or Islam. It's like clockwork, if something is happening, expect the Bishwaguru swine to somehow mention Sanatan / Islam.
On alternating weeks in Pakistan, leftists declare there is a Shia genocide, Baloch genocide, refugee genocide, Sindhi genocide, LGBT genocide, and so on...

Yeah this is not so different from what happened in Sri Lanka, in fact this looks like the same script but see how Sri Lanka did it. Their President and PM resigned and left with the help of the Military without their chief getting into the mix. Another government took over. It wasn't very difficult.
When push comes to shove we tend to rely on the military and in the end, they betray that trust.
I don't think the current BD military leadership cares about running the country by themselves but we will see.

We do things which are in our national interest. Just like you do in the South China Sea.

Why is Hindu twitter crying about invading Bangladesh and annexing Chittatong and the Chicken's neck?
