No she could not as even her SPF(Special Protection Force) was no longer to be trusted to protect her. They leaked the plans of her residence to protestors waiting outside!

BA told her in no uncertain term they will not kill thousands of protestors in order to protect her regime anymore.

Again it is difficult for others outside BD to understand that BA simply cannot be made to kill its fellow citizens by any government.

What I meant was if she had the full backing of the army, police, intelligence agencies then she could have just waited it out, let the rioters do whatever, if they cause damage to Bangladesh then it be used against the protesters, and millions of Bangladeshi would condemn the violence and slowly it would have died down. But she lost all support. BNP is no difference, they had their chance many times but nothing different was done. The real change will be if a party with new vision is formed, give chance to the students and youth to join politics and work towards a change. Something to look out for.

@Joe Shearer You can curse Sanghis as much as you want, but this takes the cake. Its like India trying to erase Gandhi completely and RSS killing and lynching even the actors that would have ever played Gandhi. 15 years of Hindutva rule was not this damaging.

Funny part is, these folks are trying to rewrite the history itself... If these few days are any indication, Bangladesh's history books are going to be fully rewritten soon with SMR being made some kind of usurper.

Yes these are rumors only.... I have already explained it makes no sense for USA to have military base in Bangladesh.... Bangladesh location does not offer anything geographically or strategically....
If they want to maintain presence near Myanmar then Andaman-Nicobar island is the most sensible option....

If someday the US wants to assist the independence of India's northeastern states, Bengal would indeed be a good base. But the US needs India right now, and they won't rush into Bengal.

Any country maintaining a military presence in Bengal is bound to lead to a violent reaction from India, and Indians are not stupid.

Common muslim folks around the world will always support pakistan and bangladesh over india which makes it by default identity made conflict at the same time it does not have to be reflected in official state positions.
As per islam all muslims are one metaphysical body and no artificial social entities can erase that sentiment.
