Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

Go defends your avatar first from your compatriots, atm your appearance is stupid than anything.

Noora Tameema is having bad days. Why is it that when Modi has bad days Noora's also experience pain? 🤔 There is some spiritual connection.

However, as far as the current situation is considered, even while she may have done invaluable and fundamental service to her country, she let her insecurity take her into an unwholesome blind alley, where finally her own people, outside her loyal party colleagues - there were many of them - began to hate her and to struggle to free themselves of her. There is nothing that an outsider, and irrespective of my blood ties with Bangladesh, as an Indian citizen I am an outsider, can say or do that is relevant to the actions that the Bangladeshi citizens have taken.
Yes, it does seem Hasina turned autocratic. However, that doesn't take away that the stability and achievements under her long rule hasn't lifted BD upward. I think developing nations should first have stability, education, infrastructure development, industrial development before they venture into nasty party politics of chaos and inconsistent policies.
Finally, a question for you - whatever gave you the impression of any contrary view held by me?

I thought you disagreed with me that India, under Modi, is still marching forward. I believe it is. I believe it is a bit cleaner and efficient govt than the INC was. As for the communal angle, if/when that gets out of control then Indians would have only themselves to blame in future. The communal policies are totally unnecessary anyway. Rising tides raise all.

They never wanted relations with a bully like India. Especially under the leadership of a Hindu bigot Modi. Don't impose yourself.
As I said , Bangladesh is free to break up all relations with India and in fact have a hostile relationship like Pakistan

Pakistan should Help Bangladesh in solving its economic problems

India badly abused Bangladesh , last 15 years India utilize Bangladesh Garment quota to earn billions by providing cotton "only from India " and used Bangladesh quota to sell India products in EU and US. Haseena was more India stooge then sincere to Bangladeshi people.

Thanks for highlighting this. This was one of the hidden exploitation happened in the last 15 years. People usually focus on big-ticket items like transit and port hand over and often forget these hidden changes and how it adversely impacted BD.

In addition to this, power quick rentals - Adani and others made a killing out of this business. They charged Capacity charge just to stay on standby. The amount BD paid in Capacity charges and got nothing in return, we could have easily built new power stations.

Awami League MPs getting caught trying to flee across the country

Some even wore burka while fleeing.

Former law and home ministers' location are currently unknown. Many former MPs and former ministers were not able to flee.

Former ICT minister Junaed Polok and Foreign minister Hasan Mahmud was arrested at airport while trying to catch a flight.

Modi's best friends are all getting rounded up. No wonder Modi toadies are threatening BD with economic and other sorts of revenge.

Don't get emotional Hindutva pappu. China is there to help BD. Of course we will help and hold our Bengali brothers/sisters close to us. You can import all the Hindutvatis in BD. Deal?

Oh, oh, oh....you are right there. I can reply at length, but do begin a new thread for that.

There is no evidence that this is a cleaner and more efficient government than the pathetic Congress was.

On the communal front, it is between a 0 and a -10. While the Congress did nothing much for the minorities, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, and Buddhist, or Dalit or tribals, and, in fact, due to the pusillanimity of an earlier Gandhi, gave way disastrously to the regressives, the Sanghis are bitterly hostile to the minorities, most of all to Muslims, who represent the strongest other religious grouping.

Yes, if these have an effect, a long-term effect, we will only have ourselves to blame, but since that is my own position, and I do not think that anyone else is to blame for that, there seems to be little or no daylight between our positions.

Just like they Helped Pakistan and Sri Lanka , both of whom want Debt waivers now

China has much better economic assistance compared to more rigid IMF loans.

When are you airlifting Hindutva in BD?

@Joe Shearer You can curse Sanghis as much as you want, but this takes the cake. Its like India trying to erase Gandhi completely and RSS killing and lynching even the actors that would have ever played Gandhi. 15 years of Hindutva rule was not this damaging.

Funny part is, these folks are trying to rewrite the history itself... If these few days are any indication, Bangladesh's history books are going to be fully rewritten soon with SMR being made some kind of usurper.

Interesting and fun times ahead!

Good thing Pakistan is going through its own political crisis otherwise ISI would be blamed.

No, I get your point, and have to correct my unconscious bias against the BNP and for the BAL. It will take time, but I do understand that the oppression that prevailed has deeply hurt many loyal Bangladeshis.

It's okay. You are an old school veteran liberal.

It will take time. I ask Bangladeshi brothers to be tolerant as I, and many other liberal, democratic Indians, re-orient ourselves.

Of course! I tell you what? I am not trusting BNP either. I do think they are relatively much better. However, power hunger turns even good people into mad ones. This the central lesson that everyone must learn from Hassina's reign.(Not that she was good to begin with)

I am seriously planning to take the street against corruption the next day BNP takes power. Everyone was laughing about it when I told them that. But I am dead serious.

As students, we will protest anytime anywhere against anyone we want to. It is our principle responsibility to keep who ever in power in check and hold them accountable. We say, never again.

Right now I am very much hoping Dcotor Yunus with some genuine patriots (professors and intellectuals) declare a party and run for the office. All the students will vote for him. It would be such an excellent counter-balance.

Congratulations to Professor Yunus on his appointment as caretaker Prime Minister.
