Most likely when fujian is fully operational. My guess is 2026 time frame.naval variant will be in service first and foremost.

Na 2030-2032 will be the most realistic timeframe for PAF will induct J31

It's depends on WS19 testing phase, WS19 is intended for J31 but currently J31 is with interim engine called WS-13IPE

Yes it will be the medium weight jet like F35 whereas J20 is a heavy weight jet like F-22/F35 combo

Lol you know what's the squadron meaning? 16-18 jets, if we assume that J31 project has more prototypes flying in somewhere in China let assume 7-8 prototypes this doesn't make a single squadron, and remember dude J31 is not reached mass production stage, and 5th gen jets are more difficult to mass produce than 4.5th gen jets

And last jigs and tools are not ready for mass production of J31

Which three? First prototype that flew in 2012 and had rather raw stealth features and massively underpowered by the RD-93 engines? We had seen it on zuhai airshow to maintain speed and altitude it was continously using afterburners

And second prototype was non-existent since 2019, so we have only one prototype of J-31 which flew in late 2023

Here is my latest prediction not based on any news but my own analysis. Pakistan will eventually get J-31, I mean really soon, may be even get prototype 5th and 6th one or the first three from small batch production just like Z-10. Our boys will test it in here in Pakistan, we would take it to limit and put them in real life situations then if want few more changes in them or some additions we would ask for them or if satisfied we may straight would give a bigger order.

Those boys don't know anything about 5th generation (yet) let alone having enough engineering background to test aircraft experimentally.

They'll await for what the Chinese do, and then maybe if design comes to better fruition, then they'll go for operational requirements regarding evaluation flights for a supposed acquisition.
