Indian Navy News & Discussions

I think the situation in that region is very dangerous because of Yemen.... if it was only Somalia pirates then they would have sent only 3 to 4 warships but seems extra warships are as a precaution against Houthis as they are much better armed and can pose a serious threat to even warships....
But there are US/UK fleets are also in red sea which are better equipped than your destroyers

Simple they are there for protection of there assets and we are there for owrs and both will do what it takes or we think what it needs ..cheers

Generally a multinational force there, incl Pak Navy, USN, other friendly Arab states.. but maybe only in horn of Africa max traffic wala zone.

Pirates might have grown longer legs and figured out a way

Yemen conflict alag scene hai.

Yes and this is the real worry..... even after USA UK combined naval forces they are still not able to stop Houthis attacks so imagine how difficult it will be for Indian warships who are poorly equipped compared to USA UK warships..... so I think they need to deploy in numbers in order to compensate technical weakness.....

10 warships is actually overkill for pirates but good it shows how determined India is to protect her shipping lines.....
Bhai, these are real life experiences for sailors high risk full engaged but still hot zone. You need to make sure things are ready and these are best low impact way to test skills.

Royal Navy uses NATO escorts due to lack of its own ships ready to deploy with a carrier. The RN’s biggest obstacle to constituting the carrier strike group is the usual lack of escorts, besides HMS Diamond there are no Type 45s ready to deploy

What do you intend to do? Help your American and British buddies?

Understand one thing. Make one wrong move against Pakistan and you will get a solid reply. Abhinandan will look like child's play.
We are just there to protect our shipping lines and along with ours we are there to help other countries shipping lines including Pakistan if they are in trouble and ask for help...... we are not there to do anything against Pakistan as if you look at map we are there at the mouth of Aden gulf which is far-away from Pakistan.......
