it is interesting that US air defences never fail, they are just never there to begin with

of course those of us in the real world understand that crude copies of Iranian missiles launched by Yemen have defeated US Patriot systems in Saudi Arabia on many occasions

houthis used to have some crude marine drones many years ago, because they did a few attacks on Saudi alliance ships using them, but i'm unsure if they currently have them. I think they have them, probably upgraded deadly ones, but they might use them if this conflict gets serious.

if that was true then why do Yemenis in major cities come out to protest Gaza and support their govt? Why aren't people protesting if they dont agree with the Houthi govt? Define "give a flying fuk to common peoples lives"- what Yemeni think is "giving a flying **** to common people lives" in their society is just different from what YOU think "giving a flying fuk to common people lives" means.

drones and cruise missiles are easier to detect and intercept, especially at 200-500km ranges and with huge number of US navy ships in a relatively limited region

ballistic missiles are notoriously difficult to guide in the terminal phase, especially against a moving target

however, I also believe a lot of these are warning shots, they are landing 200-800m away from the ships maybe because they don't actually want to sink a massive ship or kill a large number of people. noticeably, even when the missile lands near the ship the ship often docks to a nearby port instead of continuing its journey, so that's a success already (not to mention the 5x increase in insurance premium and huge disruptions to journeys with all 4 of the largest shipping companies avoiding the Red Sea now)

If they can manufacture drones and missiles in Gaza I’m sure a vast country can Yemen can find a way to produce military weapons, unless America and their Allie’s are planning weeks of bombings on yemen most of these attacks were token hits….if iran, Syria, Hamas, hezbollah and numerous other groups have underground fortified factories im sure the Houthi have prepared for this.

Additional strikes are underway
 
The 2018 Riyadh missile strike was a series of seven missiles launched into Saudi Arabia by Shiite Houthi rebels [Ansarallah] on 26 March 2018, targeting the King Khalid International Airport and other sites.

Saudi forces claimed to have destroyed all seven missiles, three of them targeting Riyadh, two targeting Jazan, and one targeting Najran. However, according to Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at CNS, the Saudis failed to intercept the missiles following a malfunction of the MIM-104 Patriot system.

One video appeared to show a Patriot missile launch on Sunday night go rapidly wrong, with the missile changing course midair, crashing into a neighborhood in Riyadh and exploding.

Another appeared to detonate shortly after being launched in the Saudi capital.

Periodic smaller precision strikes are militarily perhaps more effective deterrents than one or two larger ones.
