this is hilarious

BBC's security expert says he has been studying Iran's missiles and says Fattah-2 has only 400km range so it must have been used from Syria, making Syria complicit.

he confuses Fattah-2 for the Pakistan MLRS also called Fattah... which they show videos of (snippet below)... truly comical beyond belief...

not to mention he lists Iran's 3 main missile systems as Shahab-3, Haj Qasem, and Kheibar-Shekan... as soon as anyone mentions Shahab-3 I can already tell they have no knowledge of Iran's missile program

He typed "Fatah missile" and "Iran longest range missile" or "Best missiles Iran" in google and searched not even 5 minutes and called himself a security expert of missiles

he listed Shahab-3 as one of Iran's main three missile systems, that alone tells me he is not qualified to talk about Iran's missiles

worth noting Shahab-3 has been out of production since maybe 2008 and has not been used operationally by Iran. though inventory of thousands of these missiles likely exist to be used in extremis

Missiles used in Operation True Promise II

Summary: Kheibar Shekan-1 and Kheibar Shekan-2, Ghadr with MARV warhead, and Emad. No evidence of Fattah-1, but KS-2 is arguably a close variant of Fattah-1. Other missiles not yet used: Khorramshahr (any variant), Rezvan, Sejjil, Fattah-2.

Kheibar Shekan-1:

good timing. see my last post here of the missiles used in Operation True Promise II.

Iran's most potent missiles against Israel: Fattah-1, Fattah-2, Khorramshahr-4. None of these have been used yet.

I thought they believed fatteh series were used because of the booster they found

To be clear these are KNOWN systems. Iran definitely has systems that remain unannounced.

It seems like 18 out of 33 missiles launched at Nevatim Airbase successfully hit their targets.

That's 50%-55% effectiveness for missiles launched from Shiraz bases located 1700km away from Israel. Not bad.

Iran had to respond to killing of Haniyeh and Nasrallah, while avoiding an all-out war with Israel and USA.

It not a good time for an all-out war at this moment, so Iran did a carefully calibrated strike targeting runways and to a lesser degree aircraft shelters for the purpose of taking revenge on Israel and demonstrating Iran's capabilities while avoiding an all-out war.

bigger problem is limited destructive impact

one could hope it's because they used smaller warheads on purpose to extend range
