Heck, there are some Indians that even look at the Roma in Europe as their early European diaspora. This is at the same time Modi is in Laos, giving funding to rebuild a temple. They are trying to find any fragment and weave together a global “diaspora” of people of any cultural or biological links to India.

Outside of being born into an ethnicity and soft power exports like yoga or Hollywood songs, their culture isn’t as appealing as other options to the many peoples of the world. There is also limited societal unity to sacrifice one’s whole life on the level that East Asians have done to get things done, while society doesn’t give them the right tools to compete globally. (By this metric, Pakistan is doing worse in all fairness, so many focus on their Muslim identity instead of their Pakistani origin).
Ultimately, they can’t knock their own people because it’s where they will be accepted, as the world will go through cycles of using them and discarding them; look at Canada set to expel tens of thousands of students in the coming months.
A lot of people live like sub-Saharan Africans. It’s not their fault. Society is just not set up to support that many people to achieve a first world lifestyle.
Therefore, nowadays they try to find any partner anywhere to have as many areas to keeping growing such as the Middle East to satisfy their populations rising expectations.

Israeli tank fires at UN peacekeeper
Two United Nations peacekeepers were wounded on Thursday morning when an Israeli tank fired toward an observation tower at their headquarters in Naqoura.
“The injuries are fortunately, this time, not serious, but they remain in hospital,” a source told the Telegraph.
Israeli soldiers also fired on a UN position in Ras Naqoura, the source said, “hitting the entrance to the bunker where peacekeepers were sheltering, and damaging vehicles and a communications system”.
The source said the headquarters of the peacekeeping mission, called UNIFIL, and nearby positions have been “repeatedly hit”.
The UN has around 10,000 troops in the country from 50 nations, including several hundred soldiers from Ireland, as they monitor the ‘Blue Line’ between Lebanon and Israel.

If it faces problems it just bombs them like a maniac, in actual combat Hamas and Hezbollah especially have the tools to make life hell for Israel
