AvtoVAZ announced the cost of the updated Lada Vesta SW Sportline station wagon, which entered the Russian market.

According to 2022 figures, sales increased most strongly in the cargo segment. 143.7 thousand trucks were sold in Russia during the 12 months of 2023; This figure increased by 71% compared to the previous year. In the passenger segment, sales increased by 69% compared to 2022, reaching 1.06 million units.

A 20 percent increase was recorded in the light commercial vehicle segment (90.4 thousand vehicles sold in 2023), and a 27 percent increase in buses (sales reached 16.3 thousand units last year).

More than 80% of all new cars sold in Russia in 2023 were passenger vehicles.

The automobile company MB Rus, which is part of the Avtodom group (the former representative office of Mercedes-Benz in Russia), became the distributor of the Chinese automobile company Seres Group and received the rights to officially import and sell Seres Aito M5 and hybrid cars. “JSC MB Rus, part of the Avtodom group, signed a direct distribution agreement with the Seres Group and received exclusive rights for the import and distribution of the serial hybrid Seres Aito M5 and M7 in the Russian market,” the press service said in a statement.
It was noted that the M9 model will enter the Russian market in the second half of 2024. All cars will receive a warranty, and owners will be able to maintain them in service centers throughout the country.

In 2023, AVTOVAZ sold 352,572 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles on the Russian market - 87% more than a year before. As a result, the market share of the LADA brand, excluding parallel imports, reached a record 35% for the last 20 years, in compare with 27% a year before, according to the carmaker's own estimates. The best-seller of AVTOVAZ last year remains LADA Granta, which renewed its annual sales record with 206,116 cars (2.2 times growth by 2022). Sales of the Niva SUV family increased 2.4 times and totaled 92,003 vehicles, this volume was almost equally shared by the Legend and Travel models. The flagship LADA Vesta of the new generation found 49,272 buyers (+69%) at the end of 2023. We should also add that last year 4,228 LADA light commercial vehicles were sold (-38%), which provided the brand with 99.6% of the compact LCV segment.
The growth of LADA sales was accompanied by the development of the dealer network. Today 568 dealerships operate under the control of AVTOVAZ, 315 of which specialize in LADA, and 253 - in cars under Renault and Nissan brands. Due to sanctions pressure, AVTOVAZ changed its export business model in 2023. Last year about 6.5 thousand LADA cars (-62%) were shipped abroad, their addressees were dealer centers in 8 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. The priority export destinations remain the countries of the near abroad, and in the near future it is planned to restart sales in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.
A number of projects of large-scale assembly of LADA abroad are being implemented, and one of them may be the resumption of Granta assembly in Egypt. According to the results of 2023, AVTOVAZ increased car production by 70% to 374,077 vehicles. At the same time, the output of LADA cars at the Togliatti site became a record for the last 10 years. Among the main tasks in 2023 was the re-launch of LADA Vesta in Togliatti, the launch of the production site in St. Petersburg, the expansion of car configurations and the return of previously lost options.
Maxim Sokolov, president of AVTOVAZ, told the AUTOSTAT agency that the approved production plan of AVTOVAZ for 2024 envisages a 33 per cent increase in car output to 500,000 units. It is planned to sell about 450 thousand LADA cars on the Russian market, moreover, the company expects to supply more than 100 thousand cars out of this number under the state order.
