CPEC News and Discussions

It looks like a very nice and modern airport. I hope Pakistan will allow China to use it in emergency

Mash'Allah, looks great.

Thank you China for your help in building this airport.

Also please help Pakistan build world class universities and vocational colleges in Balochistan.

They make a better living than the people of Gwadar than ever dream off
Jealous stinking Indian, go wash your mouth with soap.

The Baloch locals will benefit the most from this Gwadar projects.

I hope there will be a direct flight from “Gwadar-Chengdu” so that I can visit Gwadar easily.
China should make an airline with its C-909, C-919 and C-929 to compete with the gulf carriers and get the Comac planes to be globally recognized amongst consumers.

Civil airliners are not a mere commercial and technological competition; they are heavily influenced by political factors.

China's Chengdu Airlines, is operating the ARJ21 (C-909) as its main aircraft. Some other Chinese airlines also have ARJ21 in operation. Indonesia seems to have ARJ21 in operation as well. The C919 is currently operating in China and the C929 is under development.

These airliners from COMAC, which are too influenced by political factors, will not develop too fast for the time being. After all, its competitors won't make it easy to get in. Behind Boeing is the US government, behind Airbus is the EU.

As long as China backs COMAC to try to build routes in the eastern hemisphere, it can compete better as it can be critically integrated. Chinese operated airports in places like Africa can prioritize COMAC planes, and fly to Gwadar as a regional hub.

All civilian passenger aircraft are required to obtain an Airworthiness Certificate, as well as certification from the relevant regulatory authorities of the importing country, before they can be put into operation on the relevant routes. The two largest international agencies, EASA and FAA, are controlled by the bosses behind Airbus and Boeing respectively. They will not easily let COMAC's civilian airliners obtain the Airworthiness Certificate, which requires a lot of political and commercial negotiations. Until then, COMAC's civilian airliners can only operate within China and on certain regional routes.
Currently, the ARJ21 has obtained Airworthiness Certificates for some regions. It is already operating in Indonesia, Russia and Africa, while the C919 is currently operating on domestic routes, with some foreign buyers in the pipeline.
I am sorry to tell you, but as far as I can check, the Airworthiness Certificates obtained by ARJ21 are FATA (Russia), MOLIT (South Korea), DGCA (Indonesia), DCA (Brunei), and there is no Pakistan in this list. So you won't see it in Pakistan.

C919 originally planned to use the domestic engine CJ1000A has been completed, but the C919 still continue to use CFM's engine, is because of the “Airworthiness Certificates” negotiations. ------CJ1000A is the civilian version of WS20 for Y20B.

Free of charge ? Are you sure because other sources say - it's part of loan and cost around RMB 600 millions
It's not a loan you can check the website it's classified as a grant

Did you watch the video that is what the Chinese guy said? It is a relatively small airport with only 2 articulate tunnels. But modern airports with control tower, radar, and Admin buildings but no hanger
All surroundings are empty so once Gawader becomes really active plus grows in population it can be expanded
